Re-releasing

Just a poll, if items (i.e. HM Clock, Beta) were re-released, would it affect you?

Yes, I would be quite happy. The value of a lot of my stuff would go down but I'd rather have the items available.

Yes, it would help me a lot. It is so hard to get rare items and most people want rare items in trade for other rare items. Having the items re-released even for just a day would be awesome!

that is a loaded question...of course it would affect most everyone...a better question would be what would that effect be.


To me I do not care if something is rare or not I just like to decorate.


ie I NEED black candlesticks for my HM room and for Halloween. just one example.

That would affect me in the way that I would be totally mad ... I buy a lot of rares stuffs from other ppl for lot of credits ... I would not like rare to be re-realeasing or just during one day or one/two hours per year and at an expensive price ... I think I would stop playing ... The only thing I would like to be released is magic

Ok, see, I started in April (very end of March). I don't think the value would decrease completely if very rare items were rereleased for one day. Take the Pin Trading Event: Grand Californian is still very rare and I was able to trade it for something completely awesome (vip vip, vroom!).

If they made it available for one day, made it slightly expensive, the items will still remain rare, but a new generation of VMK-ers will have them. You must also think of those that joined late: no Halloween, no Christmas, no Pins. If you just made it all available for one day, I guarantee that the new players won't be able to get everything. The items will still remain rare, and newer players can have more of a bargaining chip.

That about sums up how I feel. Also, I'm tired of going into the shops and seeing items on display which are no longer available for purchase. VMK should either restock the items or redo the shop displays to reflect what they actually sell.

Seriously though, I am all for re-releasing things (as long as they send me, and only me a list of what and when it will be released so I can then trade it before the vaule goes down)

I put "No" in the poll... I wish they would just realease a new color of Haunted, dresses, cowboy, etc., that way, we could keep our stuff rare and buy new stuff that would be rare soon, too. That's the way I want it

This type of thing did happen when the Sorcerer ears were re-released
last fall. People who did not know they could buy it were trading rare
items for it from people who took advantage of their ignorance.

If the trade happened the day BEFORE the re-release, then it's just bad luck.
But it was definitely not ethical to try to take advantage of its high trade
value when it was available in the stores.

If they were about to re-release items, VMK should post a "Items are coming
back to stores! Click here for more info!" would cut down the amount of
players taking advantage of others in a similar situation down the road.

i would be so happy if they rereleased items because i wasnt here for Halloween and wasnt aware of anything during Christmas and wasnt aware of any releases or rereleases and i didnt have the money anyway to buy anything

While everyone has excellent and very valid points, I think this is an especially great one. It's especially true for Inferno (if it ever were to happen) and possibly one day putting the Stitch hat in stores (not to mention a few others that are going for outrageous "prices"). I understand it's nice to have rare things, as I very much enjoy the few rare things I do have, but I don't think anything should be so rare that players get it in their heads that they won't take anything less than 75% of a player's inventory for one item.

It is easy to understand people wanting to have things first or that others don't have. I just really don't undestand not wanting other to be able to have them. Things are worth what you think they are so if you paid everything you have for .. ah orange tomorrow land pin thats apparently what you wanted that bad. Some people just walked into the store and lucked out just liked it and bought it. Then almost a year later it is suddenly being handed out like candy in quests to the person with most fast mules. (another whole story)

This is how thinkgs work in the real world. Early addapters pay the most so that down the road everyone can have things. Look at cars, color tv, Digital cameras and HDTV now. Some things remain more expensive but available. So I would say maybe the game should have a few rare items, maybe some items should be rare for a season, but why must people care so much if other people get these things just because they liked it better when everyone didn't have it.
