Re-releasing RANT

I don't think rereleasing is bad. If someone expects a LOT for an item in a trade, I weigh the possibility that it may come back out very soon and factor that into my decision. If I still want the item, I trade. If not, I don't. It's not really worth it to get worked up about whether or not items are being re-released on a free game. If I was paying actual money, I might get irritated, but I'm not.

It's really naive to suggest that rereleasing is going to cut down on scams or placate the constant cry babies of VMK. Let's consider the people that joined the day after the item was sold, then what about them? Also it's been shown that rereleasing doesn't lower the value, people STILL want beta pricing for beta rereleases like the Yellow princess or HM blue chair. The rare tag seems to stay despite a rerelease.

Also not everything will be released again, yavn already ruled out several key items like green pants and flips, and rares like Stitch Hat or Sparrow.

And it's perfectly normal and acceptable to desire rare items and want them to remain. Some of you, (especially the elders) like to scold people who want rares like we are criminals. Not all rare collectors are scammers or out to hurt people. And simply releasing items again is not a solution to the scammer problem. I'm surprised some of you cant come up with better ideas than "let's flood the market with Stitch hats" because then the next rare will attract scammers again.

And what about the "let everyone have a chance" argument? Come on now, any adult knows life isn't fair and you dont always get what you want. Why should VMK yield to anyone to please them for 5 min because after they get green flips they are now gonna want stitch hat. All the whiners about the pirate hat and how everyone really wanted it, it's out but now old news so on to the next rare or not out item. Disney is known for rares, any parents out there just now start collecting the Disney pins? Some are long gone, write to Disney, complain, whine, cry but they are not bringing those back for anyone. Same with VMK, stop crying and move on. Afterall its just "VIRTUAL" eh? ;)

Just an observation on the post by stephentxt99, i am not "quoting " it...

this thread has been for the most part, a positive discussion on the merits of re-releasing items, a few have lamented that the items were re-released after they traded for them, others stated that they did not have enough credits.
but unless i am wrong ( and i am sure someone will point it out)
there has not been any attacks on any person or group of people

I do not think it naive to wish the scamming to stop, if you had a small child that has been taken advantage of you would wish the same. It is called having compassion and hoping for the best.

Some of us "elder" !! people have it more together than you might realize, who do you think keeps Disney in business with multiple trips to the parks, purchasing merchandise, and movies. Oh and yes, i have been pin trading the "real" pins not the virtual ones for many years.

And as far as your argument of the "whiners" asking that everyone have a chance, why not, it is Disney, the game is for kids, it is free and your right about one thing, it is virtual.

I don't see any reason why it's wrong for them to re release items. Just look at it this way: after they stop selling them they start becoming rare again anyway.
