Hi All,

First let me say that we bought DVC for BLT today!

Of course, with ownership comes a few questions. Mainly one question. I was reading this thread, http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2048007 and the information here is a little confusing to me.

I asked my guide about using Developers Points for a reservation, and he said that I could use them next month for our stay at the end of August (7 months out) which is all fine and good. That part I got.

However he also said that I could use my BLT points to make a reservation at BLT for early September if I call on March 1st. So am I reading the above thread wrong, or is the information I got from my guide correct? Can I call MS and make a reservation for early September on March 1st, or do I have to wait until next year?

As far as I know, on Mar 1/09 owners at BLT can make a ressie for early Sept. onward, (that is true) to Feb 1-8/10, as that would be the 11 month cutoff, (but Im guessing on that one, dont quote me!.)
Non-owners can make a ressie on Mar 15 for BLT. (again, true) from early Sept, and I would guess, til Oct 15/09 as that would be the 7 month cutoff (again, just a guess on the cutoff)

In the other thread, the owner wanted to use their DVC points, not developers points, for a DVC stay at their non-home resort before their unit was open for occupancy.

I don't think you can use your BLT points for a stay at another DVC resort until your unit is open.

Since BLT is scheduled to open on September 1, you can call March 1 for reservations at that resort for date starting 9/1/09 and beyond - up to your 11 month priority. You could also begin making reservations for other resorts on March 1 using your BLT points for dates within 7 months - but I don't think you can make any reservations using BLT points until March 1 or later.

We bought at BLT during our stay in October during F&W so we are newbies also but I think I understand the question.

You may make a reservation once your points are in your account. They will be deposited at the beginning month of your use year. You may not use your points (actually stay at a resort) until your resort is open. BLT is scheduled to open Sept 1, 2009.

My Use year is Feb. If I am correct, I could make a reservation on or after Feb 1 at any open DVC resort (within the 7 mint window), but could not stay there until after the BLT opens in Sept. (so actually I couldn't make a reservation until March). Generally reservations at the Home resort are available at 11 months, however BLT reservations will not be available to those who own there until March 1 of this year, and March 15 forother DVC members.

Whew! Thanks to all of you. I was getting worried that I mis-understood something and wouldn't be able to make a ressie on March 1st.

I won't be fighting on the phones too much for space, that's the first day of my DH's first WDW trip so I'm going to have to spend some time with him!
