... the less I understand. Can anyone recommend a condo that is not a time share. I really don't want to deal with any annoying salespeople. We are an average american family coming to Orlando in September. Visiting DW for very first time. Me, dh, dd (she's 6) and dm (72). Condo doesn't have to be real luxerious, just CLEAN and hopefully 2beds/2baths. Thanks in advance.

I just booked a 2 Br villa at Wyndham Palms for $99/nt at hotelkingdom.com.

Here are some of the room's features:

DELUXE, VILLA, 2 BEDROOM, 1 KING SIZE BED IN BEDROOM, 2 QUEEN BEDS IN BEDROOM, 2 BATHROOMS, FULLY EQUIPPED KITCHEN, LIVING AREA, DINING AREA, WHIRLPOOL BATH, VCR, 52" LARGE SCREEN TV, BALCONY OR PATIO

Also, there are plenty of Wyndham Palms reviews in this forum if you search.

Below is the link to the hotel site.

If you book a timeshare with Marriott you don't have to do a timeshare presentation. Call just as you would one of their regular hotels. We were never bothered or even asked to go on one (although we requested one, liked the place so much!).

How about the Marriott Residence Inn hotel near dt disney?

Spacious suites wtih 2bed and bath plus full free breakfast.

We have stayed there and it is very nice.

Like PhilipP I would also recommend checking out the Wyndham Palms. The website he gave will bring you to the corporate Wyndham site. This location also has it's own website at www.thepalmsresort.com you may want to take a look at.

When we stayed there, we were asked once if we liked the resort enough to take part in a timeshare presentation. I answered that although I liked it a lot, I was not interested in the presentation. No other questions the entire week, in fact, several other people here have noted that they weren't even asked if they were interested at any time during their stay.

i used them last year and are using them this year for our trip. One week in a 2 bedroom condo with 2.5 baths for $250 for the week. That includes all fees and taxes. It was clean and spacious and it was great having a full size kitchen. No timeshare presentation.
Use their 'ready, set, go' auctions. Usually the auctions are won for about $50, then you have to add on their fees of $210, so it comes to rougly $250.

What do you mean add on fees of $210? Is it always $210? Can the fees change. I looked at website and couldn't find that fee add on.

We just won a Skyauction Ready Set Go bid as well, but I thought the base fee was $195. Apparently some specific resorts add extra fees (from between $10-$50 I think the website says), but with a bid of $50-ish plus the $195...you can get a place for around $250, and under $300 even with an extra fee. For 7 nights in a 2-bdrm condo, it can't be beat. We're going to Orange Lake in December!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Hope you have a great trip, whatever you decide to do, Rmvite! :D

With Skyauction, for the weekly rental auction, it states in the auction itself that you add on a fee of $195. Then, when you actually go bid, there is a fee of $15 that goes to Skyauction(I guess for running the site), so your total add on is $210, and since most auctions are won at around $50, your total will be around $260. Still only a bit over $35 a night for a 2 bedroom. You can find hotel rooms for $35 in Orlando, but that is only a room, and you would still have to add on taxes.
Good luck bidding

Thanks for clearing up the Skyauction fee mystery! My DH actually did the bidding/paying and I was unaware of the extra $15 fee. Still a great bargain! :D
