Hello all,

First off, thanks for any assistance you can give. My question is this... What are my options for re-newing my wedding vows at Disney [at the GF wedding Pavilion or any other resort or location]. I know you can get married there, but can you re-new? I'll even take any suggestions anyone has with this. My 10year is July of 05' and I need to get started with the preperation of festivities. Thanks again.

Brian

Yes, you can renew at WDW. I believe add on packages start somewhere around $1200 for several different resort locations. The site www.disneyweddings.com offers some info and you can order brochures there.

No, add on package is $2,300.00. And that was for renewal at Poly. Included: Coordinator, officiant, bride bouquet, groom boutinniere, solo musician for renewal and cake, 2-tier cake & topper & champagne, 2 hours photos, vow renewal certificate, wedding website listing, 4 hour limo charter. Husband and I decided it was too much money and too overboard (were looking for something a little more low-key) for our 10th. Instead, we mentioned it on all of our PS's and received a little special attention at most meals, which was fun.

Yes, Mrsjacksparrow's price sounds about right. When we inquired for our 10th last year, we didn't need a package with parkhoppers and all, as we have AP's and already had our ressie at the Poly. The "event minimum" we were quoted was just under $3000. Instead of doing this we arranged for private dining and a fireworks cruise. We also did the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill in Epcot. This was fun and cute, a nice contrast to our more romantic evening celebration. DH didn't like the food there, but we had a good time anyways.

Is the vow renewal something you planned on inviting guests to, or something for just the two of you (perhaps with your kids?) am curious because as the others said, there are things you can arrange with Dining to make an evening special without the official 'renewal'.

In 2000 my DH and I desperately wanted a disney wedding; but it was my second wedding and i was a single mom, and he was still in school, it wasn't going to happen with a package.

We managed to work it out: we got married off property, had a luncheon for 18 guests at the GF cafe (booked through group dining) they even customized a menu for our guest with 3 choices of main course, soup/salad,soda/tea/coffee and a choice of two desserts. The only thing we couldn't have was a cake; to do that they require you to use their services (and you can't bring one in from outside).

Then, we all went to the MK for the afternoon, where we met up at 8 at the castle for dinner, and then watched the fireworks. That was the perfect way to really have an unusual disney wedding, but a disney wedding nonetheless! :)

My point? Think outside the box on this one if you can't afford/don't want to use disney's wedding planning dept. They do a fabulous job, but if $$$ is an issue, it's hard to pull it off.

Hope you have the re-hitching of your dreams!

What is this rehitching ceremony at Garden Grill at Epcot?
My DH and I are celebrating our 25th and I inquired about renewing our vows but was also quoted the high price and said no thanks.
The Swan knows were are celebrating and have been wonderful enough to upgrade us to a suite which I think is terrific. The staff over there is WONDERFUL. I haven't even arrived yet and they are doing so much for me.
If anyone can give me info on renewing our vows I'd love to hear it also.

Disney starts out with their basic package at $3,200, I believe, but you can only have 8 guests and cannot use the wedding pavilion. For $5,200 you can use the wedding pavilion Monday-Thurs. If you want more guests you have to upgrade to a custom package which starts out at $7,200 for Monday thru Thursday, I believe. We are doing our vow renewal in June at the Swan.

My wife just surprised me with the rehitching ceremony at the Garden Grill. It was really funny. Our preacher was "Preacher Sam". Mickey was our best man. Pluto was there too. Not too sure what his role was, but is was fun having him. They make you stand up in front of everyone. Preacher Sam reads a set of short "vows". They make you kiss and take a few pictures. You get a certificate to take with you. It's a lot of fun, but if you are looking for something more serious, I would take the suggestions of the other posters.

Hi there,

We renewed our vows on board the Disney Wonder Cruise Ship last December.

The cost was $1000 which included, flowers, cake, co-ordinator, certificate etc etc.

Cheaper than at WDW.

rosemary...

when you do the vow renewal on the cruise ship, does the ceremony happen before the ship leaves port or did it happen while at sea or on castaway cay?

dh and i really wanted to have a disney wedding when we got married a few years ago, but we were on such a strict budget that we just couldn't pull it off. so instead, we "ran away" to orlando, got married in a chapel off-site, and then spent our glorious honeymoon at WDW. it was an amazing week...we've talked about doing the disney vow renewal for our 5th anniversary, but we still aren't sure. our 5 year anniversary will be in sept of 2007, so we have a while to plan! and most likely, it would be just us, hopefully a child or two ( ;) ), and MAYBE a few family members.

Did you have to make prior arrangements for this re-hitching ceremony or just ask when you get there?
Sounds like alot of fun, especially for the kids. I would love something like that.

The vow renewal takes place when the ship is docked in Nassau at about 5pm. It is only the weddings that take place on castaway cay. We wanted our vr to happen on the day at sea but Disney were quite clear about when and where it happens.

There were 11 of us in total.

Any more questions, please do ask.

We made the priority seating for the Garden Grill about 60 days in advance. When we got there, she just let them know that she wanted to surprise me with the re-hitching ceremony. Our kids got a big kick out of it as I did too. Give it a try. It's fun.
