I'm 51 yo and my "monthlies" are pretty irregular (not so unusual). But what is unusual and is driving my crazy is that often I'll go through about a week or so where I have cramps off and on-like a for a few hours, then I'm OK for 12-24 hours, then cramps for a few hours...the pattern repeats for several days. I might or might not get my "monthlies" then. It's so frustrating! I wish I'd either get it or the cramps would go away. I just went to the doctor a few months ago and everything was normal (well, as normal as could be for this time of life). Is this part of the whole abnormality for others?

No answer from me, Dorothy (obviously), but thought I would try for a smile...........CRT!!!!!! :)

Enjoy your trip, only a week to go, wish I was seeing you again. :wave2:

Im 46.5 and thats what I was explaining to the doc when I saw him 5wks ago. I thought that pain was a "normal" sign of menopause. He had me come back for a ******l ultrasound and found 3 cysts on my left ovary that total totals 1/2 the size of a tennis ball. This Thurs Im going back for a 2nd ultrasound to see if they dissolved on their own.
Good luck - Id at least call the doc and explain

I'm 39 and my cycle is so crazy that I've all but given up on figuring it out. Just when I think I'm "getting it" because I'm cramping up and all headachy, it stops, and then nothing for a few days. Then it starts again. I used to be one of those textbook 28 day wonders, who always knew EXACTLY when I was getting it.

Since entering this joyful perimenopause, I never know. As if life isn't weird enough.

I'm hitting the BIG 50 next month and have not been blessed with an actual cycle for about a year. (thank God)

I have cramps like that every once in a while but they seem to be getting less common. I found it weird that my last couple years of cycles I had really bad cramps and heavy bleeding like I did in my teens.

Really, I wish we could take something that would just dry this stuff up after we are finished having our kids. Men are so lucky in this department.

That's me, exactly! Right now, exerything's "gone away" again, so I guess I'll just not worry and go on with my life. But all these false alarms are so frustrating. Especially for a person you used to be able to set a stop watch by-28 days at 10:30 am type of "normal". Wish it would just END! Hate this in-between stuff.

::yes:: And then when I DO "get it", it fluctuates so much, I'll think I'm "done", and get caught "protectionless". And then it will roll on for a few more days again. I'm about ready to rip everything out and be done with it.;) :p
