? re: Fort Wilderness Resort

This resort is very appealing for our last three nights of our stay. The short of the long story is that already having had only three week to make this trip happen, we have decided to extend it. No more rooms available for our first choice resort.

I have some concerns though: safety being the main issue. We will most likely have a rental for the last three days or so since we are planning a day trip to the Space Center and Coco Beach. We love the outdoors, btw. Are the one bedroom cabins comfortable? They have an AC unit, but do they also have heating? I assume so?????

Please advice of any pitfalls that I may not be aware of.

We just stayed in a cabin last month and LOVED it. We are DVC members so we usually stay in the DVC resorts but we were having a little get together with friends and wanted to run some model trains so we decied to go for the cabin... It was really nice. Hubby and I even comment that all it needed was a washer and dryer and the whirlpool tub and we would like it better than our Vacation Club

Anyway, they do have regular heating and cooling, just like a hotel room and they are very safe. There is a spot right in front of the cabin to park 1 vehicle so the car is not an issue, it is there with you. You have a double bed and bunk beds in the back bedroom and a murphy pull down bed in the living room area, full kitchen and a bathroom. There is a deck off the front door as well with a little grill and a picnic table...Fort Wilderness has always been a favorite of mine atmosphere wise. It is very laid back, relaxed and peaceful, nice to come back to after the go go go of a day in the parks.

That's so good to hear! I'm staying there on a big family trip in January, and it's hard to find information about the cabins specifically.
