Hi, we are sailing on the Fantasy for the first time next month and will be in Stateroom 9170. I've read that soot collects on the verandah and I guess that would include the chairs. Is it worse at certain times? Should we avoid sun bathing out there? I'd appreciate any input and pics if anyone has some to share. TIA!

I have sailed on the Fantasy in room 9170 twice and will be again in 2017. On our first cruise we noticed more soot than the second. It all depends on how the wind blows. Also, your stateroom attendant will be very diligent about keeping everything cleaned off. You can absolutely enjoy the sunrise, sun bath, and watch the sun set and not have to worry about the soot. We spend a lot of time on the verandah so our disabled daughter can take a break and rest. There are two lounge chairs, four regular chairs and a table on the huge verandah. Hope you have an amazing cruise!

Thank you so much for the great reply! My husband will not be getting off at any of the ports and will be spending a lot of time on the verandah so I was really hoping, especially for him, that the soot wouldn't be too big of a problem.
