Re-entering DL during Candlelight Processional

I have read that it is very difficult to get in and out of the park via Main Street during the CP. We will be there all day and would like to leave and return at some point. Is the monorail running? If it shuts down, at what time does it stop? And what is the latest that you would recommend returning to the park via the Main Entrance?

We entered DL thru the Main entrance after dark on both Saturday and Sunday nights last year. I think one night it was before the walk-in's were seated for the first show and the next night it was during the first show (but after the actual processional). The traffic control was so well done that as long as you don't plan to stop until you get well down Main Street, it really isn't a problem. You might want to avoid the first 15 minutes of the performance, when the choir proceeds up Main Street and the half hour or so just after a show ends, but otherwise you should be fine. -- Suzanne

We have entered the parks during the performance as well, and we were able to make it up Mainstreet without a problem. In fact, it was easier during CP than it was when the crowds were gathered for holiday fireworks!

Thank you both! It sounds like everything is well controlled so this is good to know. I have read posts that said to totally avoid this area, but I was wondering for what duration of time. Your posts answered this for me, so thanks again! We will be seing the CP once, but we plan to go on rides during the other 3 after we re-enter the park. It sounds like this will work out great.
