Re-confirming your res with your resort

Okay, so I've read through-out the year across several different boards and lists that it's extremely advisable to contact your resort during the week before your arrival, just to reconfirm everything.

When is the best time to do this? I'll be arriving at All-Star Music on Jan. 2nd, so I can assume that they will be very busy and hectic the week prior to my arrival. My gut feeling is to contact them 7 days before, 3 days before, 1 day before, and the morning that we leave. LOL Call me paranoid, but you know how it is.

Also, do you recommend that I fax my specific requests regarding my room to them, or do you think that a phone call will be enough? For those of your who reconfirm with the resort during the week before you're arrival, do you prefer to do it via fax on telephone?

Any and all advice is welcomed and appreciated! :teleport:

Settle, and call them once, it is enough. Anytime within the last week is fine. Not the day before, because if there is a problem it might not give them enough time to fix. Reconfirm, and give them your requests by phone so they can type it in right then & there. Fax's have a way of being lost or ignore.

I have a quick question about this. Yesterday, I received an email survey from Disney which stated "Our records show that you have a reservation at a Disney resort between January 2005 and February 2005..." My reservation is actually in April of 2005. Should I be concerned, or are they a bit sloppy with their marketing? (I do have the printed reservation info from Disney, in which everything is correct.)

That is just a survey they want you to take :D Fairly painless :badpc: Just kidding- I am sure your reservations are fine

I agree with most of this except about the fax. I recall reading on these boards a thread from a Cast Member that read you should fax a request 3 days before your reservation because that is when they are actually start assigning the rooms. This poster also said that calling in a request can get lost easier than a fax which they can place in their "folders". I'm sure if you do a search with "Fax Request" you should be able to find the thread I'm talking about. HTH

Most of the resorts now are ignoring faxes. Faxing used to be a good idea but too many people fax so they just quit looking at them.

Call central reservations and have them add your requests to your reservation. This way they don't need to match up a piece of paper to your reservation. The requests will be there. Just keep in mind they are only a request and you will have a great time. You can always ask when you check in with any requests.
