Hi there,
I want to book three rooms at the Beach Club, club level for the third week in August 2014. We are doing a family trip with my family, my brother's family, and my parents. I have no problem booking the rooms myself. I am taking a trip in March for a school event, and plan to purchase an AP. I will be the only one in my family purchasing one. I know there aren't many garden view CL rooms at the Beach Club, so I want to book it soon. My questions:

If I book a room only now without a discount, can I change it if an AP rate comes out? (I know I can change it with other promotions but not sure about AP and we don't want free dining, won't work for us)

Can I book all three rooms with my AP discount?

I realize that AP rates come out kind of late. Assuming we already have set up our MDE with magic bands, linked tickets, fast passes, etc, if I change my reservation will this completely mess up my MDE plans??

I am so confused, thanks for your help!

Yes to all. The only problem you may run into is that those rooms may not be included or not have availability. Having it booked in advance doesn't mean you'll be able to apply the discount to it.

To further explain what aaarcher86 said,to apply the discount a BC Club Level room has to be available at a discount. You will not be able to apply a discount if that room is already sold out or if the category is sufficiently booked that they may not extend the discount to it.

Room only discounts for your dates should come out end of April/beginning of May:

If that particular room is not included in the general discount or AP discount, you can switch to a difefrent room category or resort that offers the AP rate, without penalty, or keep your rack rate reservation. I know there have been a lot of snafus, but changing the hotel or room level should not mess up your MDE, as they are linked to your tickets, not your room.

Thanks for both of your replies! I do realize that particular room might not be available with the AP discount. As soon as ANY room only discount becomes available for that week (and it has for the past few years), I will grab it just in case the AP is not available. I'm glad I can book all three rooms!

I hope they have a lot of those glitches worked out of the MDE by then for all us reservation-switchers. The only thing I really care about is making sure I get the fastpasses I want.
