Hi, we are heading out on our first cruise in January and I have been reading posts about re-booking on board. It appears that you get a stateroom credit and/or a discount if you re-book while on board.

Question 1: What is the deal, discount? credit? something else?

Question 2: Are you re-booking a specific cruise (ie same week next year) or are you re-booking ANY cruise.

Question 3: If I wait until my cruise to re-book, won't the rates potentially go up from where they are today?

Thanks in advance.

Question 1: What is the deal, discount? credit? something else?

3 or 4 day cruise - $100 onboard credit per stateroom.
7 day cruise - $200 onboard credit per stateroom.
10% discount for booking in advance

Question 2: Are you re-booking a specific cruise (ie same week next year) or are you re-booking ANY cruise.

We usually book a specific cruise, stateroom, and dining time. We have booked a cruise in 2005 that we didn't intend on going. The purpose was to lock in the onboard credit, wait for the date we wanted to become available in 2006 and then move the booking when it did.

Question 3: If I wait until my cruise to re-book, won't the rates potentially go up from where they are today?

It depends; that could happen, but most people rebook 15 - 18 months out so it isn't usually an issue.
