we are planning a large family gathering for next January and at this point I plan on booking at least 3 rooms and possibly 4 (a 2br, 1br, and at least 1 studio or some variation thereof--note: we decided based to the different families involved a GV was not a good idea and that some needed their OWN rooms w/o sharing...) ANYWAY--can I request that the rooms be booked near each other (or at least on the same floor?). Is this even do-able based on the different types of rooms we will be requesting (or are the different types of rooms not grouped together but scattered throughout so the odds are likely that we can stay close to each other). I would hate for everyone to be scattered thoughout the complex..

I'm assuming from your signature that OKW is your home resort? This is probably the best resort for this type of thing. We've gotten two rooms - not more than that - and requested they be near each other. They always have been "near" but seldom adjacent. The farthest away they've been is the building next door, but still near enough to be convenient. If affords both privacy, and convenience without "bumping into" each other everytime you open the door. I'd start booking the rooms in February, if possible, for your 11 month window in January.

actually our home resort is BWV which is where we will be planning our stay--I intend to call at the very first opportunity in February @ the 11 month window.

I just got back from a trip at BWV where I had booked two studios. I stayed in one with a friend and a niece and a friend of hers stayed in the second. The rooms were right next to each other.

Although it was on the reservations, I did fax in the same request to the room controller a couple of weeks before we left. Worked out great.

I recently booked a 2br and two studios at OKW for December. I called each day to
extend the reservation. The reservations were "linked" to each other as requested but
not "guaranteed" to be close just like any other request.

We just returned from the BWV over the New Yaer's holiday. We had a 2BR and a studio. The reservation was linked as JR points out. The rooms ended up right next to each other. We did make a point of calling a few days in advance. So if they can do it over New Year's they certainly should be able to do it at another time.

Figment -

What is "a room controller" and how do you reach them. (I assume by the name they are the ones that plot everyone in).

"did fax in the same request to the room controller a couple of weeks before we left. Worked out great."

Thanks

We went last May with family and had a 2 bdr and 2 studios at BWV. They did not adjoin, but were all on the same floor and each was a few doors down from each other. I didn't fax the room controller or do anything special besides link the reservations and request that they be close together. Should be doable for you also.

You can certainly request that the rooms be near each other. They will always tell you that they can't guarantee anything, but I have always had my requests granted with regard to room location. We just travelled with a group to the BCV a couple of weeks ago and we had a 2BR and a studio. I requested them near each other. The 2BR was #134 and the studio was #122...just around the corner and plenty close and convenient enough for me.

We just return from a large famly trip We had 2- 2 bedrooms and 2- studioes an were all near each other the two 2 bedroom were next to each other and the studios were two doors away Worked out great. did request to be near each other and did fax the room controller a week ahead Stay was t the BCV
