??? re: AP, DDE, rewards card

Howdy all!
Planning our 1st trip back to WDW in 4 years (not by choice-we were out of country!) and have a couple of questions.

If I order AP's online and pick them up (do we pick them up at our resort BWV), do we pay with a credit card at time of purchase, or can I partially pay for them when I pick them up with rewards built up from my Disney rewards card?

Can I use my rewards card money to purchase a DDE card after we arrive?

Will the my rewards card money work at the Raintree Forest Cafe at either AK or Downtown Disney?

You can buy your AP's and TIW (DDE) at any Guest Services location using your reward points. They are not available at your resort.

Your rewards card points are accepted at any Disney location that accepts Visa.

If you order online, you have to pay when you order. You get a voucher that you "trade" for your AP at any Guest Services when you arrive. We did this when we went last summer to spread out the cost of the trip by getting the voucher early. When we arrived, we went before rope drop at DHS on our first day and got the APs. While we were standing there, we also purchased our DDE (now TIW). So to answer your question, you have to pay all of the AP price up front if you are ordering online before you arrive, but you can use your rewards points when you get there to purchase your TIW.

Of course, you can spread that out by ordering some but not all of your APs ahead of time, and the rest when you arrive which would essentially allow you to "partially pay" now and pay the rest when you get there I guess.

You can use your rewards card money at Raintree Forest (Rainforest?) Cafe, but you don't get a TIW discount there. I think you can get AP or DVC discount at the RFC, but I don't think they offer one with the TIW.

Since you have to go to Guest Services anyway to get APs/TIW, in my opinion, the benefit of pre-ordering your APs is negligible, unless you're afraid the price is going to go up in the interim.

Thanks for all the great help! Is there a guest services located in Downtown Disney and if so, is it open late? We're arriving around 5:30 PM on a Saturday night and staying off premise that evening. I would like to go pick up the AP's that night so that we can hit the ground running as soon as we check in on Saturday morning.

There is a Guest Services at DTD. That's where we bought our APs. Make sure, if you're planning on using your DVC discount, that you have your member cards and drivers licenses with you at that time. If you're planning on buying APs for additional family members, they too must present drivers licenses with your address to also qualify for the discount. I'm not sure of the hours, but I imagine they're open approximately as late as the rest of the Marketplace.
