Hello, thanks everyone for the helpful hints! I just purchased my 2-yr PAP and I know that the first day parking is NOT free. Since I have to pick up my PAP at the ticket booth, will that first day be counted following my PAP pickup? So I will then essentially have to pay for two days of parking and then the rest will be free? I'd hate to have to pay for two days unnecessarily. Any clarifications/tips would be greatly appreciated!

I'm confused. If you're picking up the PAP for the first time, you would need to pay to park on THAT day only...all others are free. I don't understand where the second day is coming into the picture. :confused3

Sorry, perhaps I can clarify my question a bit.

Scenario: Day 1
Pull up to Universal Studios parking lot, pay $11, go get my annual pass at ticket booth, enjoy day.

Day 2
Arrive at Universal, go to parking lot, and ...pay? Since its my first day at the parking lot using my Annual Pass?

My issue is how will they know that I paid for my parking fee the first day BEFORE I picked up my annual pass. Or is my parking fee retroactive?

The only reason that parking is not free on the first day is because you won't have your AP. They probably don't want to deal with stories of "but I have my voucher" or "I'm going in to buy an AP right now."

As soon as you have your AP, just flash it for free parking.

In your secenario, by Day 2, you'll have your AP so won't have to pay for parking.

Ok thank you for clearing things up! It says on the website ^^free parking when you buy an annual pass, and when I called Universal directly, they said that I would only pay for my first day. That's where the confusion set in...thanks again!

if you have an e-ticket voucher and present it at the parking lot, you will not have to pay for your parking from day one.

(citywalk parking deck, not the resorts)

That's a great tip! Thanks! I'll be sure to try when I get there...

A good idea is to go after 6pm if you want to park for free the day you pick up your pass.
