Re ADRs What would you do...?

On Day 180, I chose my ADRs for our 10-day vacation, including mid-week dinner at BOG. But on Feb 25, when BOG lunch reservations opened, I was able to snag one. However, it's for arrival day.

Arriving at the Poly early in the day is not an issue, as we'll only be driving from the beach that morning. My concern is if it will be too rushed if we dash off to Magic Kingdom for 1:30, hit BOG, watch FoF parade (may as well if we're there at that time), then head back to check in (and return to park for early evening)...or should I just keep the dinner reservation and leisurely check in, enjoy the resort and head to MK for my previously made ADR at the Plaza for 6:00. This is only our 2nd family Disney vacation so we're not seasoned Disney vacationers. Any opinions?

Personally, I think I would opt for the less stressful leisurely-enjoy-the-resort check in. You already will get to experience BOG with a reservation, so it isn't as pressing to try to rush to get there for lunch. Also, this will allow your family plenty of time to appreciate your awesome resort. :D

I would go with the less-stress option - for the day we check in - we will be heading ot MK - but not making any adr's for that night - we will grab qs or snack or get pizza delievered when we get back to the room after we leave at 10

Just a thought that snagging BOG dinners are more difficult to get than lunch and are also a very different experience. Quick Service vs. Table Service. No character vs. character. Do these play into your decision?

Just a couple more thoughts.Unless it is a new change...there are not characters there for dinner either. The beast makes an appearance . but not a typical character meal. Do you want a more expensive sit down meal, or do just want to eat inside the castle? Are you on the DDP? You can actually check into the resort any time. We have checked in at 7:00AM. Unlikely the room will be ready, but it could be. Ours was. Drop your luggage and hit the park. You can wait till that night to actually go to your room if you want to. We made rope drop that morning. If you are an hour away from WDW, you could leave the beach by 7:00, arrive by 8 and be in the park by mid-morning. Just a bit different thought.

No, characters are not a big deal for us so it means here nor there in that regard.

My heart wants to go on day 1 because last year, I also happened to get BOG...on arrival day. We made it by the skin of our teeth, because we didn't know how very far it was from the front gates! But we thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience, followed by a surprise(!) FoF parade! We were walking back to check in, and unexpectedly walked right into it! It was such a fun day, albeit rushed and crazy.

My head, on the other hand, is pushing me to do the leisurely pace. I have no interest in sprinting through MK on my first day again. Lol OMG...I want to make my touring plans but just can't decide. Arrgghhh!

@scrappinginontario, I see you're from Ontario too! :wave2:

Keep an eye on the ADR cancel thread for your month. We are going in May, and there have been a ton of BOG lunches being offered.

I would go with less stressful option. Stress equals less enjoyment. I would also rather experience the BOG dinner before the lunch experience.
