Do they all have nice views? If so, of what? Do the two bedroom suites have more than one bathroom? My family has a 1 bedroom suite at Grand Cal booked for next August. IF we can afford it, we want to upgrade to a 2 bedroom one so nobody will have to sleep on the floor. I'm just wondering what the differences are, if any, from the 1 and 2 room suites.

I can't answer your question about the views, but why would someone need to sleep on the floor in the 1 bedroom? The occupancy limit for that room is 5 people. If you have more than that, you need to book a larger room.

Most of the 1 bedroom suites are located at the end of each wing of the hotel, on the corners. There are a full assortment of views (DTD, pool, park), but none face the parking lot :thumbsup2
A 1 bedroom suite will only have 1 bathroom, a major drawback. A 2 bedroom suite is generally a standard hotel room connected to a 1 bedroom suite, so there will be 2 bathrooms.

You are booking far enough in advance, you might consider renting a 1 bedroom villa. A 1 bedroom villa has 2 bathrooms :teacher:
Villas are available for cash directly from Disney (with limited availability), but can also be rented from DVC owners.

I have a mentally challenged uncle who doesn't want to share a bed. My dad has already agreed to sleeping on the floor if needed.

When the new year arrives, we may consider doing that. Thanks for your reply. I sure hope we get a pool view. :goodvibes

What is available for sleeping for the 5th person in a one bedroom villa. Two in a bed, two on the couch and where does the 5th sleep?

There is a murphy under the TV.

ETA: this is in response to where the 5th person can go in the villa.

We've stayed in a few of the 2 bedroom suites. I noticed when we request two beds in each room we seem to get the suites overlooking the pool. Maybe just coincidence. They have a great view out of a floor to ceiling window. There is a sleeper sofa in the living room which gives you an extra bed.

I don't know the price difference between a two bedroom suite and a villa, but it is nice to have a kitchen and eating area. Have a great trip!

Does the 1 Bedroom suite have a pull out sofa in a seperate room?

You should check out the DVC points rental at the top of the page under "threads in this forum ".You would want to book now for next August though.

We stayed in a two-bedroom suite last February. As mentioned above, it was a one-bedroom suite with a connected standard room. It had a DTD view with a large patio/balcony overlooking the street. It had a pullout sofa in the living area of the one-bedroom suite. I can't remember if the suite bedroom had a king or two queens. I hope you find a suitable room and have a great trip.

We have stayed in a few 2-bedroom suites at the Grand. The ones we stayed in were a mile away it seemed like. Right on top of the world of Disney. However, they had beautiful balconies and a great view of the fireworks. I would consider them somewhat small compared to the suites at the DLH. The master bedroom still shares a bathroom with the livingroom. It has the sliding doors. I do not like that at all, but that is just me. I would rather get a couple of rooms concierge and get some food out of the deal instead. Back in the day when concierge was included with the suite I think it was a better deal.

To the OP, I would also recommend that you consider renting a 2 bedroom villa with a full kitchen, eating area, and two full bathrooms. We love the two bathrooms! If you rent from an owner, you have the added advantage of parking and taxes being included, too. I have called before to ask about the prices for the suites, and it seems to me you might be able to get a lot more for your $$ with a villa. Just a thought! You could probably also just rent a 1 bedroom villa and if you needed a blow-up mattress, I think that they can bring one in.

Thank you everyone for your responses. I really appreciate it. Every bit of info helps........I'm really tempted to call Disney now and upgrade.

I stayed in a 1br this past August and it does have two bathrooms, but I do agree that two bedrooms would be ideal in OP's situation.

Bathroom just right off of kitchen.

A 2 bedroom villa has 3 full bathrooms :thumbsup2

There are dedicated and lockoff configurations.
A dedicated will have 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.
A lockoff will have a queen and a foldout sofa.
In both configurations the master has a king and there is a foldout sofa and murphy bed.

Oh wow ! I haven't had the privilege (or the points) to stay in a two-bedroom yet. Three bathrooms would be such a luxury :).
