Yup.

And, if you do happen to be "late" to the ADR, you will still be easily seated at the Garden Grill.

If it were me, I'd be sure to be at EP no later than 8:15 so I was at the front of the line heading into EP. You just never know on any given day when all the crowds will decide to be there at the same time and if you're strolling up to the gate at 8:45ish, you could be in a very long line.

The rope droppers at Epcot tend to split between Soarin, FEA, and Test Track, so even if it is crowded at the gates, the rope drop line for an individual ride will not be too bad. You should be fine to make your reservation within the 15 minute grace period.

We did an 8 am GG ADR and was done by 8:45ish. We went right downstairs and rode Soarin' twice before the crowds came. If you can find an early ADR, we liked that so much better.

There isn't a 15 min grace period for ADRs. 90% of the time the restaurant will accommodate a late arrival, but there's no guarantee. And while the rope drop crowd does split between the three, there is the outside the gate line for security that is not split. Getting to EP at 8:45 or after could easily mean it is 9:10 or later before they even arrive at Soarin'. 15 min BEFORE an ADR is what Disney suggests and requests from its guests.

It should be doable. If you get to Soarin' and there is already a 20 or 30 minute wait posted (unlikely), you can always abort the plan and just head straight to your ADR.

As long as you get to EPCOT early and are at/near the front of the line, you should be fine. You should be in the first show or two and that would give you plenty of time unless they are runing late.
Obviously a very short walk to Garden Grill. I would be at EPCOT by 8:15 - 8:20.

What time of year are you going? I was there in October and did a PPO ADR at GG at 8:15. I stayed with the baby while my family rode on the 1st flight and got my rider switch pass. Then the massive crowds came. By the time they came back with my pass, the SB wait was at an hour. I would work on changing that ADR to a PPO. Otherwise, what PP said about getting there with lots of time for security is right. Either way, enjoy GG, it’s a great restaurant and my kids loved it.
