Hi, we are wait-listed for Crown Park Gatlinburg for june 2010. I am wondering how likely we are to get our dates? How long does it usually take to get a match? I am looking at other possibilities but would love input from anyone who has done the waitlist thing. I would love to hear if anyone has stayed at this resort too. Thanks so much for any input!:)

I would be expect your waitlist will come thru. Many timeshare owners do not bank their time until within 10 months of the arrival date.

We have stayed at Crown Park. It is a relatively new resort very close to the downtown area of Gatlinburg. We found we could easily walk to anything in Gatlinburg. It is pretty centrally located just a couple of blocks from the space needle, convention center and Ripley's Believe-it-or-Not is just around the corner. There are some nice dining options within walking distance. It's only about 1/2 mile into the National Park form there or just continue on up the airport road (the road the resort is on) for the Motor Nature Trail which has a 5 mile drive thru a section of the park with some nice hiking trails and some restored homestead cabins and farms.

We were in Gatlinburg last week and hiked up to Grotto Falls (about 3 miles round trip) with my DD and grandkids aged 8 and 5. Pigeon Forge is about 6 miles away with Dollywood and Dixie Stampede. We went whitewater rafting in Hartford, TN - about 45 minutes from Gatlinburg.

Enjoy! :)

Hi, thanks so much for the reply! Did your 5 yr old grandchild get to go rafting too?? My DD will be 6 when we go but i wasn't sure if she'd be too young. I think she'd love it! We have never been to Gatlinburg. We have some extra points to burn since we used developer points this year in February. We are planning to return to DW november 2010. I would love to do the 5 day DCL cruise but its just too pricey!!:)
