A friend of mine traded into SSR for one week and then into BWV for a second week thru her RCI account. She paid $199 and $249 respectively to do so to RCI. When she checked into the DVC resorts, they each told her she is being charged $95 exchange fee per resort.

I know we as DVC members pay a $95 exchange fee but do people trading in as well?

Also, since we as DVC members already paid our $95 fee to trade out for our October trip, should we anticipate more charges from the resort we are going to?

Tia.

Yes, they do.

Your confirmation should generally disclose any additional fees. For example, here's the Unit Information for one of my upcoming DVC stays:

Studio units sleep from 2 to 4 guests and include kitchenettes that provide disposable dinnerware only. One bedroom units accommodate 4 guests, two bedroom units sleep from 6 to 8 guests and three bedroom units sleep from 10 to 12 guests. The bedroom units feature full kitchens. Enjoy cable TV and DVD players. All accommodations feature porches, patios or balconies with additional seating. Trash is emptied and towels replenished on day 4 of stay only. Daily service is available with 24-hour notice and an additional fee. Please arrange with the front desk or DVC member services at 800-********. $95 mandatory resort fee charged at check-in. Fee includes but is not limited to services such as assistance with dining reservations, Disney's Magical Express reservations and purchasing theme park tickets through DVC member services toll free number 800-********

Here's another example for a Hawaii resort (which charges Transient Occupancy Tax):

Units at Wyndham Kona Hawaiian Resort are 2BR Max 6/Pri 6 with two bathrooms, full kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, cable TV, and washer and dryer. Some units are townhouse style and require stairs to access bedrooms. Upper (A side) units have approximately 13 steps. Check-in is 4PM. For arrival after 5PM island time, call resort to arrange. Credit card imprint requested at arrival. Units and property are smoke-free. No pets allowed. All Hawaii resorts charge a Transient Accommodations Tax for timeshare units, ranging from US$20-40 per unit, collected by the resort. Please call the resort if you are arriving later than the expected check-in time: 808/334-4700. Units offer Wi-Fi/Internet access. The resort has a children's pool.

Another question....I see the reservation confirmation under "upcoming trips" on my DVC member site account, but there's no travel detail or any specific information other than the confirm number and dates. Where would I get the info you are referring to please? Thanks again.

I'm not sure---I've never exchanged out of DVC. You might call Member Services to see if they can help you.
