RCI Trade Availability

[NH to MCO]

Hi! I am not a DVC member (but am a huge fan!!) but have traded in through II the last two years. BWV in 2007 and BCV in 2008. I had already banked my II week for 2009 before they lost their agreement with Disney. So now I have to join RCI and possibly bank my 2010 week to see if we can trade into DVC.

What I was wondering is if any of you RCI members could check availability for October or November for me? Just wondering if any weeks show up before I join RCI. Thank you in advance for your help! Karen

Availability for fall has been relatively good. But, you will need a very strong week to see anything in RCI---many folks are finding that dual-enrolled weeks that were good enough in II are not in RCI.

I have a high red in Charleston SC. So I'm hoping it will work. If not, its okay, we'll just book direct. I just hate to bank another week and have no availability then I'll have two banked weeks, one with II and one with RCI and will have to pay cash for Disney. But I guess thats the chance I'll have to take either way if I want to try a trade.

We loved the BWV and the BCV. Wonderful resorts!! I don't think I can go back to a regular hotel room after staying in a villa.

At this moment (3/25/09 10:00am) there are 1BRs available for exchange at only OKW and SSR in Oct - nothing in November. A few weeks ago there was availability at VWL, BWV, BCV, OKW and SSR for Studios, 1BRs and 2BRs in both October and November using this same exchange week. Some availability will vary based on the trading strength of the resort you have banked and some will depend on when you banked that week. DVC points members also have access to DVC inventory.

Interesting - after Lisa's report I checked again against the same week as before and now find the following - 3/25/09 3:20pm. Pretty much the same as Lisa found, but much different than at 10am this morning and my exchange week still doesn't pull up anything at VWL. There are also several options in mid December at OKW and SSR for Studios and 1BRs.

Interesting - after Lisa's report I checked again... my exchange week still doesn't pull up anything at VWL.

Doc, I checked again now (6:38 pm) and I still see VWL and I do NOT see BWV for this time frame (I see it in other times). I cannot imagine that this is a trade power issue, just some kind of online search glitch. Sometimes, when I call RCI, there's more inventory available than what I can see online. Maybe that's where we're seeing variations? II used to be very strange when searching, with significant variations from moment-to-moment - sometimes I had to log out and back in, just to see full inventory availability. Confusing.
