RCI Question

My Mom owns RCI. I understand that there is now a partnership between RCI and DVC.
Does this mean that she can book a room on property using her RCI points/membership? You can probably tell from my question that I know nothing about this. She has offered to let my family use her RCI when we go in September but I would rather stay on property if we can. So I was wondering if this can be done.

Quite possibly.

If she has RCI Points, it's pretty likely that you can find a unit in September, but the number of pionts required is substantial, and she may not have enough without comining several years' worth. If she has RCI Weeks, she'd need to have a very high-demand week to use in trade.

She (or you) should probably take a look at TUG (www.tugbbs.com) or Timeshare Forums (www.timeshareforums.com) where there's been a lot of discussion on this topic.

My parents have RCI points as well and are giving us points to go next January. We are a lot of people so we need a grand villa. We needed a lot of points for this. It was something like 82000. You can book 10 months out-to the day of first night. We can't book until March so I don't know how hard a resservation will be to come by. If you go to RCIs sight they have the points and code numbers listed.Good Luck

For all practical purposes DVC does not deposit 3 BR units. Even getting 2 BR units will be tough though Jan is somewhat easier. I'd try to 2 units with at least one being a 2 BR unit. You should keep yourself open to any resort that comes available. Good luck.
