Rci/guest Certificate/vistana Resort????

Hello I hope someone can help I have a guest certificate from a rci member for a week stay at vistana resort, I am to check in on Friday, I need to do the diamond lane check in but I wanted to get advice from the greatest board on earth to make sure I am picking the right place.
I have a 2 bedroom sleeps 8/with privacy for 6, I am thinking this is one king bed and two double beds.
I think cascades is the most conjested area of the resort, and I do not want to be there, I am thinking either the lakes or maybe the spas, do both of these have multiple floors and or elevators, I really like the screened patio over looking a pond or lake rather than a pool. The pool is not very important to us as we will be spending most of our times at the parks, however my son who is 7 will probably want to go to the pool some if he can see it and know that it is there, but if there is a whirlpool in the master suite put him in there and he will be happy,so can anyone give me any suggestions on where to stay, I have tried to research this resort and I cannot find alot of pics on this place, and the website is not that great. please any helped appreciated.

There has been a LOT of good info on Vistana here on this board. You may want to try a search, or simply page back a few pages and see what you can find.

With a Friday check-in then Spas or Lakes would probably be a good choice for you. I keep hearing that Lakes is more remote from the main areas. Also that you can hear the Highway noise from Lakes? Spas seems to be a good central location?

Some buildings in Lakes may have elevators??? (I know that Cascades do, as their buildings have several floors.) I do not think that there are any elevators in Spas. If this is a concern you should let Diamond Lane know that you need either First floor, or an elevator.

My DS is probably around the same age as yours... and I know that he LOVES pools and will have loads of fun swimming and playing with other kids being around!!!! Some pools have fountains, slides, etc.. You would probably enjoy having a cool drink and relaxing while your DS plays. ( I understand that most pools are shallow and many have zero-entry....) So, you may not want to completely discount the pools.

Have you seen the photos and 360' views of Vistana that you can find on Expedia?

Spas is in a very similar location to Cascades. The big difference (aside from from Cascade being newer) is that Cascades has long exterior hallways, and the buildings are 5 stories. Spas buildings are generally 2 stories, and the way that it's set up, there is one other building on your floor accessed by that set of stairs. Still a very central location, and many screened in balconies/patios overlooking ponds. Also a whirlpool/jacuzzi in the units if I remember right (it was '98 when we were in Spas, I was 11, I do apologize if anything is vague).
Lakes is quite secluded, but it's right off the highway. And I'm not talking about 535 either, I'm talking about I4 (maybe?). One of the major ones. It's a newer section, and from all the pictures I've seen it's set up much like the Cascades buildings/units.
I will say that none of the units are in exactly non congested areas. But some buildings are worse than others. I found that the exterior hallways in Cascades meant that on checkout day we started hearing the rolling suitcases and racing feet on the cement about 2 am.
We really liked Spas. It was one of the older sections, but the unit was actually a bit bigger than the one we had in Cascades. We loved the location (sorry, but it's surrounded by pools). It was easy to find in the maze that is the Vistana. I'm not kidding, that place is hard to navigate.
