RCI Advice Please

Hey budgeteers!!

Here's my dilemma. We banked a week in 2009 and it expires this September, so I have to be checked in somewhere before then. We have been doing Disney and it never worked out that we could use it there.

Other issues...Rising gas prices, we already have a cruise/land Disney vacay in November, we leave for Texas in a few weeks on another vacay, when do I have time or the money for this trip???

So what I'm asking is...I live in Central KY, where could I go that is nice and budget friendly using RCI trade property? Most places have kitchens and that will help alot, but the last time I traded at Myrtle Beach is was gross!!! So any advice please :flower3:

Thanks, Karen

You can also extend your deposit for a fee if that would work better for you.

Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge is a good suggestion. There are also North Georgia and North Carolina resorts that look pretty nice.

Thanks!!! I was able to extend by 1 month and I'm staying at Wyndham which has priviledges at the waterpark Wilderness of the Smokies!!! Wooohooo!!!!!!!!

Thanks!!!

Karen

My mom has 2 timeshares, I believe one is RCI. We stay at Ocean Blvd in North Myrtle. We love it. I have probably been there about 5 times. Check it out!

We have this issue too with BlueGreen. We are in Indy and going to Gatlinburg, it's 7 hours for us. They have cabins, you should look into booking now, they were sold out the next 3 months and we ended up with a 1 bedroom condo. We are going 1st week of May.
Someone on here told me about Shenandoah Crossing, it's in VA, and looked like a lot of fun. They have 3 bedroom cabins which are brand new. I want to go there next time.

Chrissy...also I am also from Indy and a BG owner. Stayed at Laurel Crest last weekend in Pigeon Forge. It was quite nice and easy to get to all of the "stuff" in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg. Hope you have a great trip.

Sorry to hijack this thread:)

Cool!! DH and I have both been there, but not for a long time, and not together. we are excited. I am a little sad the chalets were sold out at Gatlinburg, but hopefully the condos are nice.
Glad you guys had a good time.

Did you do anything super fun we should look into?

You could get some good suggestions on tugbbs.com. They talk a lot about Massanutten (sp?) on that board. It's in VA I think.
