I know we are all big disney fans. But we are going to try a Royal Caribbean Cruise this Jan 2005. Does anyone know of a site like this for RCCL. Also any suggestions as to who to book through.

Thanks.

cruisecritic.com has a forum that has lots of useful information. They have forums on all the cruiselines and ports of call.

I agree w/cruise critic, but you better research and book fast! Our jan 05 Panama Canal cruise is already sold out! Unbelievable! And, I've seen recent posts for some december and february cruises being sold out as well. I guess everyone is on a cruise booking frenzy right now.

We are giong on the Enchantment in January. I would go to Cruisecritic as well. There is also cruisemates.com and cruise-addict.com

OUr cruise has sold out of balconies in April of this year, but there are some insides left. i have heard cruisecompete and cruise411 may be pretty good for getting quotes. We booked through our TA for our cruise.

We booked through cruisequick.com. Its an email only site, so if you need telephone contact, it may not be for you. Its a TA for the experienced cruiser who doesn't need a lot of hand holding. You basically need to know what you want before asking for a quote, but many people on cruisecritic will tell you they got their cheapest quote from cruisequick.

Some good comparison sites are bestpricecruises.com, cruisesonly.com, cruisecompete.com, cruisebrothers.com, vacationstogo.com, icruise.com, crucon.com.

Good Luck & happy hunting!

I've booked my last two cruises through Costco.com. Definitely compare prices and service. You'll love RCCL!!

I have searched and searched and there is no other cruise message board like the DIS! There are some that have info, but not to the detail of this!

We're also taking a RCI cruise in January 2005 (leaving 1/29 from San Juan on the Serenade of the Seas). There are still some cabins available on our cruise, afaik.

I echo the recommendations for Cruise Critic. Very comprehensive and very busy. I do visit Cruise Mates and Cruise Addicts, but the boards software there is so poor that it is really annoying to use those boards for anything. Instead, I recommend Cruise Buggie www.cruisebuggie.com. It is most like the DIS -- same software as the DIS and, just like the DIS, Cruise Buggie has a generally more-friendly feel. It isn't, however, quite as active as the others, nor as active as the DIS.

I booked my cruise directly through Travelocity because none of the cruise-specific travel agents I contacted could come anywhere close to the package price. They all came in under Travelocity for the cruise fare itself, but for the airfare Travelocity was best, and that airfare was only available with the cruise package.

I just came back from a rcc to bahamas on sovereign of the seas and hated it. My ds and I spent most of our time in the cabin. there was not much to do compared to DC. They only had one movie theatre working. The last day of the cruise we did finally have fun. We were at sea and they finally had things that families could do. The food was so-so. Some was good, some was bad. We would rather go on a dc again but can't because of the price. Also this boat smelled like sewage.

We just recently returned from a cruise on RCCL Mariner of the Seas and I highly recommend it! Overall, the experience was fabulous! Ship is beautiful, service excellent, a million and one things to do. Dining room food didn't quite meet expectations, but the two specialty restaurants were out of this world and the buffet was quite good as well (especially Jade, which serve Oriental fare). The Captain is very accessible and funny. The ice show was excellent. Great Caribbean band at pool, always easy to get seating by pool. Embarkation and disembarkation were both easy.

We booked with www.GetReadyToCruise.com, which gave us a very good price and excellent service. I always book my own air...I have always found it to be cheaper than what the cruise lines offer.

Definitely research the ships and itineraries before booking. Sovereign of the seas is one of the older, if not the oldest, ship in the RCI fleet. They have her scheduled for a major overhaul which includes adding balconies! My favs are Brilliance, Mariner, Jewel and Grandeur. I haven't been on the Empress of the Seas since her overhaul this past year but I imagine she is good too.
Good luck and happy sailing!!

Cruisequick is excellent, but if you need hand holding this is not the company for you. They have beaten my quotes from others twice. They were helpful also in my last cruise when Cruiseline had our 2 parties book on seperate flights going to Purto Rico. Cruise air sometimes bites. But it all worked out in the end.

How did you like the kids club on the Mariner? My DD is a figure skater and we are thinking of making it our next cruise. We want to try Disney first while she's still young enough to fully enjoy it.

i was wondering if anyone recently traveled on the majesty of the seas What was everyone thoughts

i know nothing bets disney but i am tryng to get a whole group of friends and family to go and the disney cruise i know will be alittle price for some

i will be on the magic 06

I'm looking into the Navigator of the Seas. Cruisecritic (I think) listed it as a great family-friendly ship, and it looks like it has a lot of kid space. Any comments?

I thought I read that RCCL had a kids group for 12-14 year olds. Is that true? We are thinking of trying them in 2007 when my twins turn 13 (not crazy about the idea of them being with teens up to age 17 on DCL, so the 12-14 year old group sounds good).

How do you know which ship has the ice rinks and kids stuff?

We'll be in Majesty of the Seas early next month. I'll likely post a link to a review on my web site by mid-November, if I manage to write it up by then. (If you're still curious, and I forget to post the link by Thanksgiving, please drop me a PM to remind me.)
