RCCL FOS vs Disney

I have a couple of questions for those that have sailed FOS or even the Voyager class ships. We are taking a cruise on the FOS in January and this is the first time we have sailed anything other than Disney.

1. What is the sail away party like on FOS. Do they even have one?

2. Disney has Pluto's poolside. I know RCCL has Johnny Rockets, but you have to pay a cover charge of $3.95/pp. That's expensive every time the kids want a burger. Does RCCL offer a place onboard like Plutos poolside. I know they have the Pizzeria on the Promande.

3. Does FOS have a drink station like Disney. I know you have to pay for soda on RCCL. But what about juice/coffee etc....

That's all I can think of for now. We truly love Disney but my 13 year old wants to try a larger ship so we thought we would try FOS as it's brand new.

To answer your questions...

1. Yes, there is a sailaway party on RCCL...IMHO, we think it's just as fun as DCL...pretty much the same type of thing and energy!

2. Actually, Johnny Rockets use to be FREE til Summer 2004 (when Mariner sailed and when we started RCCL). Apparently, too many kids/people were ordering food and wasting half of it or just leaving it so RCCL felt it would be more controlled if people had to pay a fee. I understand their reasoning, I'm sure there was ALOT of wasted food the old way..esp w/ the kids ordering and just running out. Room Svc is an option for a burger, and it's FREE. The Royal Promenade has Sorrentos Pizza and other snacks. The 24 Hr Cafe has various sandwiches daily that they give you along w/ various desserts and cookies. The food offered outside of dinner was easy to get and good selection. My 3 boys never complained they didn't have the foods they liked.

3. Sorrentos and 24 hr cafe offer FREE Ice WAter and coffee/tea daily. You can also get FREE lemonade/punch, etc at the Windjammer during meal times. Again, that was sufficient for our family for the most part. We don't drink much soda anymore so it was never an issue for us...plus in the heat, water is best.

Hope that answers your questions..
