Hi!

I am about to try RCCL for the first time in October, however, I already have a 2nd RCCL booked for January 2020 that stops in Cozumel.

I was wondering if RCCL docked at Puerta Maya (like Carnival) or at another terminal?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! The schedule doesn't seem to be out yet on the site but I found one on cruise mapper. There will be SEVEN ships in Cozumel that day. Crazy!

Not that crazy for Cozumel :) Most likely you will dock at TMM International Pier, it's kind of beside the Carnival pier but they have separate entrances. Unless there are a lot of RCL or Celebrity cruises docked that day. Carnival (Puerto Maya) has room for 3 I think, 2 at TMM and 2 or 3 at the other dock (Punta Langosta), where Disney and NCL go.

Which ship? Royals (and celebrity) bigger ships get priority at international (as they've put so much money into it they want money back), I've never heard of a royal ship docking where carnival tend to dock, again carnival put money into that terminal.
Smaller ships may get put downtown (where Disney dock) but its more expensive there and tends to be the other other companies.
When I was on a vision class ship were were always downtown of there were already 2 other royal ships in as we were the smallest, there was even one time we didnt dock anywhere and tendered to international because all other berths were taken, but that seemed a little crazy and only ever happened once...

Adventure of the Seas. :)

Can we shop at Puerta Maya when the International terminal is our cruise terminal? It looks like Puerta Maya has more options.

Thanks for the link, that was very interesting. It shows 6 ships docked when we are there June 14th. Wow, that is going to be a crowded day in Cozumel!

6 isn't too bad :) it does also depend on the size of the ships! Oasis class is much bigger than even Freedom, or some other cruise lines ships. Cozumel and Nassau seem to get many ships almost daily. They are used to it so it should be lots of fun any way! But if you are looking for something smaller/private like a few of the resorts, you'd want to book early.

We booked Mr. Sanchos. I know it's a popular place so I'm wondering how they'll handle the crowd.

It’s actually Nachi Cocum that has a cap - 150 people per day. It’s not bad if you’re just looking to lounge around.

I read (from Mr Sanchos) that when there are full, they stop accepting visitors.

I also read that there are two sides. One "pay as you go" and the other "all-included" and that the all-included section is 100 guests (some people say 200) only. Not sure if it's true.

So in effect, it's not really a occupant cap. It's a cap on the all-inclusive area. So there could still be a LOT of people at Sanchos?

From what I understand, there's a Maximum capacity of 450. It doesn't sound like it's that much but I don't know of the space they have so... We'll see?

Guess so. With everything that's available in Cozumel I don't expect that it will reach capacity but you never know, so it's good that you've booked a spot.

Yes...it can get very crowded. I wouldnt doubt that it has happened but I have never heard of anyone being turned away from Mr Sanchos. I have heard of ppl being turned away from Nachi and Paradise Beach though.

I've read bad reviews online where some people said they were turned away from Mr Sanchos because they had reached max capacity.

Anyway. We'll see. We'll get there very early. We're one of the first ships to arrive in Cozumel.
