I am putting together a hygiene/personal bathroom bath for all the kids that include new electric toothbrushes and things like that, for Christmas. I am DONE Christmas shopping but theres 1 thing I still need, a razor.

DD9 is BEGGING to shave, and well its about that time :scared1: I now know why she insists on wearing long sleeves under her cheerleading uniform :goodvibes I want to add a razor and shaving cream ONLY trouble is I can NOT find a razor with a safety thing on it to avoid cutting, I know I use to have them when I was younger. I am skipping hair removal cream due to sensative skin and the mess of that. Ive searched online and keep coming up with some men shavers that look a lil scary. Are safety razors for women/girls no longer made?

For DD's first razor I got her the Shick Intuition. The razor part is surrounded by a big thing of solid shave cream and the handle is big so it's easy to hold. I don't know that they are considered safety features but did seem to offer some protection. DD did well with them. But they are expensive. She has since graduated to the Venus.

The razor I got for my oldest daughter when she first started shaving and she still uses that same kind has wires over the blade to keep her from cutting herself. She has been shaving for about 4 years now and hasn't cut herself with it yet. I don't know the name of it but it came from Walmart.

Ok I found the razor on Walmart website. It is "Schick Plus Razor, Silk Effects" is the name of the razor. Cost around 4.00.

What about starting her with an electric? Target has one the works well and is waterproof for around $10. They are typically hanging with the regular razors.

This is what I started my dd with. She doesn't use it anymore but she never cut herself with it. She used it for a couple years and then moved onto Venus.
We tried the intuition but she didn't like it because she felt like she had to push harder to get the blade close to the skin and was worried she would cut herself.

This is exactly what I was looking for!! I used these as a teen. Thank you. I must have been putting in the wrong search terms :goodvibes THANK YOU again

Armpits

The Schick Silk Effects was discontinued =( I am still going to search around for this option if not Ill be stuck with an electric one OR Veet :goodvibes

OMG I feel so stupid now! And I am a woman, so you'd think I'd have figured that out.

My DD10 begged me to let her start shaving her legs this summer. Poor girl had some hairy legs! I started her w/ an electric razor that we found at Ulta by Clio razors. It was about $22 and seems to do pretty well. I started shaving by using an electric so it was a natural choice for me. I told her she could use a regular razor when she could handle it in a few years.

NOOO dont feel stupid!! They were exacly what I was looking for and now I know why I couldnt find them =) I could NOT think of the name of them. :goodvibes

I started my girls out with the Intuition but one of them felt like she wasn't getting a close shave and ended up taking a chunk out of her ankle so we switched them to the cheapest venus razor that I think only had 2 blades and that has worked out great for us.

I got the Intuition for DD too. It isn't easy to shave pits with however. The way she goes through razors we get the cheapest ones now (CVS/Walgreen sales w/coupons). I got the Intuition refills on Ebay.

I use the schick quattro for women and I think it has the wire things you are looking for. I love the shave it gives me - NO razor burn!

Noxzema makes a good razer (this is what my mom started me with and I still see them in Walmart). I personally prefer men's razers to women's. The Mach 3 is my favorite.

Wow, I had no idea this was coming so quick. My dd9 has very light hair though (she is a red head).

Amazon has the Silk Effects Razor. They are $7.99 w/2 refill blades. Stock up on blades (10 blades for $15) and you'll be good to go until she's ready to move on to a not so "safety" razor.

Im trying to avoid blood shed =) I hate knicks ohhhh they sting  I should have looked long ago...... we may end up with an electric shaver to start with.
