Razorblades, lighters, and aspirin

That's what makes me furious. She is too smart for this crap. and I really, really, really, hate how unobservant I've been.

Oh dear, I so hope this is not what you fear.
I'm confused too about the crushed aspirin........ARE you sure it's aspirin?
Sending hugs to you and prayers too.............

Can I ask how you know it is crushed aspirin or is that just what you are hoping it is?

{{{HUGS}}} sweetie. This is worrisome. Hope it isn't what you fear.

I'm so sorry, Laurie, you have had so much to deal with lately. Don't beat yourself up for having to handle one family crisis and missing something that could be a problem.

Big hugs to you and I pray that all works out for you.
Cathy

I'm hoping it was aspirin. It was on top of an aspirin bottle and inside the bottle was aspirin. I checked.

I took all that stuff I found away. I'm waiting to see what kind of reaction I'll get when she realizes it.

I wish I had some advice or even knew what to say or do to help you, but all I can think of is to offer you a {hug} and an ear or a soulder if you need one.

I hope this is not what it looks like it could be. Your plate is so full now. Many {{{hugs}}}.

I continue on like always. I do what I can and try not to worry about the rest.
It doesn't work, but it sounds good.

I'll do what I need to do, I just don't know what that is yet.

Oh man....this doesn't sound good.

Wait and see what her reaction is when she notices her "things" are gone.

If she doesn't say anything at all...you'll have to approach her about it.

Don't let it go. Get to the bottom of things ASAP.

(((hugs)))

Prayers & Pixie Dust to you. Don't beat yourself up for being "unobservant". You found the stuff & you are following through. Parenting is the toughest job in the world.

Don't beat yourself up over "missing" something.

You didn't miss it...... you found it!

Let us know what's going on without spilling any unnecessary details. Your privacy is important and we are all very concerned for both of you.

For those of you CB'ers that understand what this could be, I am also asking for an explanation. I'm naive and your information could help lots of us out here in cyberspace. Any other tips would be appreciated, too.

{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} Laurie!

Here is the explanation I sent Laurie from my point of view. I was hoping I was wrong :( Laurie whatever you need, you let me know.

For those of you who don't know, my ex husband who I am talking about below is a crack addict and is presently in jail. I know more about drug abuse than I really want to.

I was married to someone who wanted to be a drug dealer so unfortunately I know quite a bit. Of course, this is 20 year old information, so I am sure that new things have been discovered since I was 20.

When he used to buy cocaine, he would buy large quantities and then need to "cut it" with something. In other words, he would add something white to it to make it go further so he could make more money. He used to buy this powder at the drug store in the vitamin section called Inositol to cut it with; if he was really short on money or time, he would use Goody's powders or just crush up aspirin to add to the coke.

The razor blade of course chops it into fine pieces. You can also use the blade to "draw a line" of coke on a mirror (by the way did you find any mirrors lying flat?) and then snort it with a short straw or a rolled up dollar bill.

If you are going to smoke it (crack cocaine) you need a pipe (usually a glass one, small, about the length of your hand). You put the coke into a container and heat it. He used to do it on the stove, but some people use a spoon and a lighter. When you heat it, it becomes liquid, and any thing added to the coke is cooked out (aspirin, inositol, etc.) so it becomes pure coke again. Then you can drop it in the pipe and smoke it.

Other things to look for in your child's room: flat mirrors, small straws, dollar bills that look like they have been rolled up, aspirin powders, spoons, anything that can be used for a pipe. You can even make one out of aluminum foil. I would also search for needles.

Things to look for in your child: loss of appetite, hyperactiveness, weird sleeping hours, bloodshot eyes, dry mouth (drinks alot of liquids).

Now, this I don't know personally about, but I do know that some people who do heroin need a lighter and a spoon and somehow they cook it in the spoon and then draw it into a needle to shoot it up.

You should also keep an eye out for excessive nose bleeds and use of alot of nasal spray or nasal saline solution.

For those of you who have children, I hope this information helps you.

Thanks jipsy. :)

I'm hoping that some how all this is a big mistake on my part, but I'm not foolish enough to count on that.
I've thought about it and decided that I really hadn't missed much of anything. If she's been doing this for long, then she's really good at hiding it. With advice from other's I'm sure.

I know my girl, she hasn't been acting weird, her eyes have been fine, her nose too. She hasn't been spending more time in her room, she's always been in her room, usually talking on the phone.
Her grades are pretty good too.

Regardless I will find out for sure what's she's doing, if anything, and then I'll decide what I have to do about it. In the mean time, she's not going anywhere until I find out exactly what is going on. She's been doing whatever in my own home, that makes me a little sick, but I'll deal with it.

That is IF, she is doing anything. I still have hope.

Btw, she lives in my home. I have only a slight problem searching her things. We have talked about it before. I told her I will respect her privacy unless I have reason not to. My suspicions are reason enough.

I hope everyone has a good day today. Thanks again for all the help. You know how much you have helped me in the past, it looks like I'm in need again.
{{{hugs}}}

Prayers, support and a BIG (((((HUG))))) for you! I hope it is all a mistake, but don't get complacent about it.
