I thinking of purchasing a razor for my ds's 6& 5. Would love to hear any comments of either style. Is it worth the extra $ for the A2? One saver than the other?

Both of the ER docs I know say they will never get one of these type things for their kids. They won't buy heelies either.

I can't answer your question, but all of the kids on my street has one and use them all the time. No major injuries, a scratch or two here and there, but nothing major. If they start to lose their balance or something, they can just hop off. Your sons should love them!

I don't know the difference, but my kids have been on scooters since they were 2 (started with a 3 wheeler) and they've been injured more while rough-housing than they have on the scooters or bikes.

You know that you and your kids are getting old when you read a post like this and wonder why on Earth anyone would buy razors for 5 and 6 year olds.

But now I'm hip and understand these are some kind of toy. :)

Ask the kids. This is easily done without tipping them off by telling them that you need their help. A friend of yours wants to buy a Razor for her little boy but doesn't know which one is better. What do they think?

Or find a cool-looking young guy in the store and ask him. If a cool-looking young guy in the store ever steered me wrong, I don't remember it.

Good luck!

I thought the OP was getting her sons Razr cellphones and was trying to figure out why a 5 year old needs a cellphone. :rotfl:

I'm not so hip, I guess. ;)

most of the kids on are block have them or something like them, no maor injuries either. The kids will have to wear their helmet, just like when they right a bike.

Yep, the boys sometimes get hurt rough-housing in the house. (one had a blooding nose this morning).

Ya your right. I have put off buying a trampoline for this very reason. But I still don't personaly know anyone who has gotten seriously hurt on one.

My DS is 4.5 and he's getting one for Christmas, too. He still can't get the hang of the bike he got last year from Santa, so I figure at least with the razor he'll be able to get around. I bought the cheaper one because he's only 4.5 and I don't know how much he'll really use it. It's not like I'll let him run around the neighborhood on it. When he gets older, and is zooming around the neighborhood with other kids, I'd be more willing spend more on something nicer.

Old fogey. ;)

Cellphone was my second guess.

That's what I thought too! And I'm thinking I won't even get them for my teen daughters!

So a razor is a type of scooter? :confused3

So, I went and googled it. They aren't motorized or anything..just regular ordinary scooters. Couldn't see the difference between the 2 is there a big difference?

My girls all had scooters when they were younger. Sure they fell off of them and got a few bruises here and there..but they also did that inside. Heck my DD broke her collar bone at 4 falling down 3 stairs (with her sister landing on top of her).
