God forbid a Republican ever make similar remarks, we would never hear the end of it.

-He says God is surely mad at America because he is sending hurricane after hurricane to our people.

Pat Robertson says similar and he is lambasted as an extremist zionistic looney tune. But it's ok for Nagin to say it?

-He says it's time for black people to build a New Orleans, one that should be a chocolate New Orleans. That it's the way God wants it to be.

Imagine a conservative leader saying similar things. Geez, they would need to hide in fear of their life.

But for Ted Kennedy and Ray Nagin shine as examples of liberal hypocrisy.

Thanks for throwing the election away Dems! :)

Hillary, Nagin, Kennedy, and the Senators labeling Alito as racist are doing a great job!

Hilary came out with some pretty bizarre remarks on MLK's day also, the dems must all be reading the same talking points!

I think Nagin is getting a pass because people figure he is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress but IMO, he seemed pretty out there during the height of Katrina so I think we are seeing the real Ray! Then and Now!

Both Ray & Hillary's remarks have been BARELY touched on in the press.

If it were any conservative leader, we wouldnt hear the end of it.

Pathetic. :sad1:

It is being discussed here already, but just thought I'd point out that Nagin in a Republican. LOL

Okay, I have it backward. He was a registered Republican all his life, then switched parties to run in NOLA. I thought it was the other way around.

Before his election, Nagin had never had public office; he was a vice president and general manager at Cox Communications, a cable communications company and subsidiary of Cox Enterprises. A registered Republican for most of his life, Nagin became a Democrat just before running for mayor. Nagin did give contributions periodically to candidates of both parties, including President George W. Bush[1], Billy Tauzin in 1999 and 2000, as well as to John Breaux and J. Bennett Johnston earlier in the decade.

Ummm.....the media is all over Nagin about it............ :confused3

What yeartolate said... Nagin's hardly been given a free pass on his comments. Hillary's comments have been largely ignored, but not Nagin's.

If that's the case then I stand corrected, I haven't heard much about it until just recently...although the talk shows on the radio have been all over it since it happend.

WHat did Hillary say?

What Hillary said:

"When you look at the way the House of Representatives has been run, it has been run like a plantation, and you know what I'm talking about," Clinton, D-N.Y., told the crowd at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem. "It has been run in a way so that nobody with a contrary view has had a chance to present legislation, to make an argument, to be heard."

Speaking to a group of Hurricane Katrina evacuees in the audience, Clinton offered an apology "on behalf of a government that left you behind, that turned its back on you." Her remarks were met with thunderous applause.

"We have a culture of corruption, we have cronyism, we have incompetence," she said. "I predict to you that this administration will go down in history as one of the worst that has ever governed our country."

Barely touched the press? How do you think I heard about it? The DIS?
It's been all over the press - even in liberal RI and SE MA

Ray Nagin has not gone off the deep end... he's someone who was a republican business man heading a major company and who used to talk the queens english, now he is a jive talking politican...doing what all politicians do ( Mrs Clinton included) - pandering to their constituents to get re-elected. Since he didn't get but half the black vote first time around, I'm sure he's concerned that NO will remain "chocolate" enough for him to stay in office.
He's just saying what "his" crowd wanted to hear.
