Prior to playing, there will be a coaches meeting/registration where coaches will pick up credentials for the coaches and players (NOTE: do not try to say you are a coach if you aren't. You will be asked at the turnstiles when you enter the park with a coaches credential. If it's obvious you aren't a coach, your ticket will be confiscated and you will have to purchase another to get inside the park.).
With this event we have to go thru Disney Sports Travel with a hotel package which includes tickets if we want. They are park hopper tickets ( will these not get us into the complex)?
Parents, friends and family must purchase a ticket to get into the complex. They are 14.50 for adults and 10 for children as of now. However, there is also length of even tickets that are cheaper than buying individual days if you know you want to attend all the games in the tournament. With your tickets/credentials you gain access to the complex and all the venues UNLESS there is a premium event going on (Braves training, some USSSA softball games, pop warner, etc). During Rawlings, however, I don't think that would be an issue.
Make sure your athlete writes his/her name/number on their credential. The complex uses biometrics just like the parks. If the coach is keeping up with all the tickets, it makes it much easier to decipher who's ticket is whose if they have their name/number on them. They should be told all this at registration.
Coolers, as of now, are permitted, as well as lawn chairs/tents. Coolers will be inspected prior to entering the complex, so no alcohol or glass containers. You cannot buy ice inside the complex, so if you require ice, the closest hess -- exit the complex, go straight through the light, follow the road to the end, and take a left at the redlight. Hess will be on your left.
Athletic trainers are available, however if your athlete needs tape, you must purchase your own. You can do that at any of the merchandise shops at the complex.
Photopass is available to nearly all events. Game Day photos are located inside the HP Field House and Josten's Center.
Equipment carts are available for your courtesy. An able bodied member of the team must ride with the equipment and be able to load/unload the cart.
There is no tram/carts from the parking lot to the entrance. It can be quite the walk if you play late in the day and park in the grass. If there is a cast member directing you to the grass, you may still drive to the front and drop off players. I would suggest going back to the grass and parking instead of trying to find a spot. It's not really that much closer and you will save yourself some valuable time. Do not park in the median unless directed to do so. You could be towed and end up walking MUCH further.
There is a side gate that baseball players can go in. If you are playing in fields 1-11, and already have your tickets, you can go through the side gate located at field 1 if it's open. It's usually open around 8 am.
Mickey and Friends do drop by some days
There is one hidden Mickey in the entire complex. he's inside, in the air conditioning. I won't tell you where
There is one table service restaurant, The ESPN Grill. It opens around 11 am and closes at 7 pm. There is a bar. Alcohol is not permitted inside the competition venues.
There is multiple quick service locations throughout the complex.
Keep an eye out for Minor Braves Players. They may be practicing while you're there!
You can check on finding last minute ADR's, extending your stay or buying park tickets right from the welcome center inside the complex.
There are usually special tshirts with all the names of the teams participating in the events available for purchase. YOu can also have custom made tshirts printed in the Josten's Center.
Some games are broadcast on ESNP2 and ESPN3.com as well as snippets played throughout the complex on the jumbotron and big screens.
