Rats! Farmer's Almanac is predicting for Dec/Jan

December can be very unpredictable. We were there the first week in 2000, it was only in the low 60's during the day, we froze at night. The next week they had record highs in the 80's!

kaabost -

My pig's spleen indicates you have the right Disney attitude!

I don't mind the cold. AS long as the roads are clear. We never drove before so I just want to make it there, without sleet & snow. But I'm not going to let the weather stop me. (I hope!)

Weather - shmeather! Florida in the winter = no shoveling! Got to love it!

Since we wear heavy fleeces just to get down to Florida on the plane - we'll be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at us. Maybe she should be a character roaming the parks!!

GO SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

St. Louis Fan----

Heeey, maybe there IS something to that pig spleen thing! I FEEL like I have the right Disney attitude! How did the spleen know????;) LOL!

Thickness of horse hair--# of squirrels gathering nuts--pig spleens--how "woolly" are the woolly caterpillers--the farmers Almanac---all are in the same league when "predicting" the weather.
The Almanac is an interesting thing. Everyone is absolutely astounded when it's right. When it's wrong (which it is about 1/2 the time) no one seems to notice..

In 2001 it was very hot and not a drop of rain.

In 2002 it was cold and rained at least 4 inches during the week we were there. Didn't use a drop of sunscreen.

It can't help but be somewhere in between this year! I'll be sure to burn some goat entrails before I go -- that should counteract the Farmer's Almanac.

Exactly. I've survived many a harsh Boston winter and a couple 30 degree days in Orlando will seem sunny and bright in comparison :sunny:

Whatever the weather, I know it will be better than St. Louis in January! FA is predicting heavy snow and record cold.

my thoughts exactly.... as long as I can get out of my driveway (and make it out of our snow belt) it's gotta be better than home!

Rats! The Farmers almanac is predicting...

You mean they're prdicting that giant real live Mickeys will start falling from the skies instead of cats and dogs when you pull out that pig spleen?

I recall one time just a few years ago a week before Christmas when there was frost which I thought was too early for the season. The next morning at Epcot (probably many other areas too) crews were out replacing flowers that had frozen and wilted.

Out of date but you can do it for your town this year:
