I just came back from St. Georges Hospital in London where I have just been scanned for brain tumors.

The scan says:

Inconclusive.

I've also been told that there are a number of other horrible possibilities based upon the findings and I am to be priority rushed into hospital on Friday as an in patient to undergo a three hour long cognitive test, two blood tests, electro-thingy readout tests involving things stuck all over my head and further MRI scans and an X-Ray.

To say the least, I am annoyed.

And scared.

(Needles :faint: )

Bummer, I was hoping that you would get some positive results and not have to go back. But inconclusive is still not a definite bad. But, I am wondering why they didn't just do the bloodwork while you were there? At least then, you would have the painful part out of the way. Then at least the tests you faced friday would be of the non-invasive kind. (at least physically)

Mind if I ask, what symptoms are you experiencing that have prompted the testing?

I am so sorry you didn't get answers today :( Soon enough Friday will be over and you will have some answers. I've been through so many tests myself, some inconclusive, that I know how it is you are feeling. Not trying to pry, but are you having symptoms that have your doctors worried?

I agree with p&w, inconclusive is better than an immediate bad diagnosis. Hang in there - the waiting is the worst part for sure. :grouphug:

Well as long as they haven't found anything really bad....sounds good so far! Hang in there! :D

Rich,
My son's initial scans came back inconclusive as well. Then, after further testing, turned out to be a benign situation.

Think good thoughts.

I do hope that everything does turn out well. At least if you know what is going on, something can be done about it. It may turn out to be something relatively benign. Prayers and PD for you.

Good luck, Rich. I feel for you with the fear of needles thing.

Yikes! I'd be scared too. I'm still hoping for the best.

I'm so sorry. I have been thinking about you. At least Friday is only a few days away. Not that it helps much, I know.

You haven't mentioned one I don't think, but I hope you have a support system there for you. I hate to think of you there alone going through this. Although you always have all of us on the DIS.

More good thoughts coming your way.

Sending positive thoughts. Hang in there and stop worrying about the needles (they're really not that bad)!! :wizard:

Rich, I'm sorry you didn't get the answer today. Not knowing is the worst. Don't worry about the MRI or EEG. The tests are a piece of cake. I've had both a couple of times. Just think of happier things and the time will go by quickly. We are here for you!

Rats. How scary for you. Keep us posted about the further testing? Thinking good thoughts for you.
