I have been checking some rates with airlines for June of next year. We plan on flying to Orlando around June 7-8 and coming home June 15-16. We are considering flying out of Jackson,MS on Southwest but we like the timesoffered on these dates by Delta out of Memphis. The Delta flights are non-stop but they are expensive at almost $500 a ticket. If prices do drop some on these tickets how far in advance will it be? This far out do these prices stay the same til after the first of the year or closer? I like flying out of Jackson but Mempis is alittle closer for me and I really like the times offered by Delta. I just hope maybe the prices may drop some between now and next June.

Those prices sound crazy!!!

We're going in August. Right now I'm seeing $219 pp round trip from JFK; I'm hoping that Jetblue or Southwest can do better when they open up their schedules.

I've always had good luck booking August just around New Years, for what it's worth.

Good luck!!

I just checked again for our dates next June and the Delta nonstop from Memphis to Orlando is $515 per person. I like the fact that we can be in Orlando by 11:30am. Do these flights usually start off this expensive this far out and go down some the closer it comes to the date?

Have you taken a look at www.kayak.com ?

And checked with both Jetblue and Southwest? (Neither has August dates out yet, not sure about June.)

My kids LOVE Jetblue because each seat has its own TV and because of the free snacks. I tend to love their prices.

Unless you are traveling over a major holiday (ie. Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc.) there is little reason to even consider booking further out than 3 months.

Jet Blue doesn't fly out of Memphis or Jackson. I will keep a check on flights from Memphis and Jackson but I really don't expect anything to change to after the first of the year. We will probably fly out of Jackson on Southwest but if Delta will come off those $500 tickets from Memphis I would pick them. It's fun to wait and watch for lower rates on air fares and maybe a code on Pop.
