Anyone know how to get a good rate for 1 night (March 3) at the Hyatt Regency In the airport? Right now they are at $189 via their website but thats a bit steep for us.

Doubt if you will do much better than that rate...you can occasionally get $149 to $159/night if you keep looking (their web site, expedia, orbitz and travelocity etc)...if you bid on a 3* hotel on Priceline in the MCO area chances are fair that you will get the Hyatt. All of the 3*'s in the MCO area are nice, close and have free shuttles to and from the airport. They go for anywhere from $36 to $45/night. They book at the Hyatt in the airport, the Holiday Inn Select and the Airport Renaissance most often. Occasionally the Marriott or the Crowne Plaza will show up. We have stayed at all of those places through Priceline except the Crowne Plaza and all were quite nice and very convienent. In all honesty, it is just as easy to stay at one of the off airport hotels with a shuttle as it is the Hyatt if you happen to fly into the B Terminal since the hotel is in the A side (or do I have it backwards...it always seems like we fly into the opposite terminal which ever way it goes)... the rooms at the Hyatt...at least the ones we have always gotten are by far the smallest of all of those places.

We usually arrive late and it is much easier and cheaper to spend that first night near the airport and go back the next AM and pick up the rental car etc. We have always been pleased with what we got on Priceline near or in the airport. There is also an Embassy Suites near the airport with a shuttle that you can often book on their website for less than $100/night. A little more than Priceline but you have a suite and a full breakfast for all included.
Hope this helps

Sounds abt right. We paid abt $150 2 years ago. Our flight was canceled & we walked up & took what they had. It's a very nice hotel. Its wonderful to be right at the airport if you have an early flight.

Betterbidding will tell you what amenities to look for using hotwire.

Just thought I'd add a little post script to my previous post. Thought I would try a Priceline bid today for 1 night 4/6 at a 3*hotel in MCO area (late flight in before WDW at Spring Break).

I got the Hyatt in the airport for $38!! Including taxes and fees it was under $50. The Hyatt seems to be coming up a lot in that general price range for dates in March and early to mid April.

I would not have minded getting one of the other places but it is always nice to get the Hyatt.

We also got the MCO Hyatt on Priceline for $38 on 3/9. We are coming in very late on that night and were extremely happy that it came in.
