Rate your 2024 out of 10?

I'd say....maybe a 5.

Good - Disney World trip in January, Road Trip to Disneyland in June. Our son has been having a good time in school. Other fun things throughout the year - zoo, botanical gardens, swimming, museums, parks, etc.

Bad - My MIL passed away in April. That's obviously the worst part that really brings the overall number down a LOT. Other bad things - we had water in our basement and had to spend a lot of money fixing things. We also had to get a new roof due to hail. And then there was the election results.

Wow…I’m not even sure where to start. I do not want a “do-over” for 2924, but I also want “no carry-overs” into 2025 either.

I’ll go ahead and give this year a 2/10.

DH diagnosed with cancer in January…took 39 days to have it staged as a 1. Right after he started treatments (chemo and radiation), my mom passed away after a very short illness. My dad decided he needed to sell their house of 24 years, and it took 5 months of weekends to get the clutter cleaned out, for the house closing at end of September. And…just when things started to feel normal, my dad was hit by a car walking in a cross-walk with a “walk” light. Dad is now continuing to recover at our house. We shortened a planned week-long vacation to a long weekend, and entirely cancelled 2 weekends (annual events) that we really enjoy.

The 2 comes from-my DH’s prognosis is excellent, and that my dad’s injuries were not worse.

I'm going with a 6...trying to stay more positive.

Brain tumor found in February turned out to be benign and was removed successfully in April. Only lasting side effect is my hair is most uncooperative in stying and looks like i have a crazy cowlick several inches long on one part of my head.

A series of procedures to solve a digestive issue I've had since having gastric bypass has finally been completed and my weight loss has stabilized.

The future of my job remains uncertain.

My dog is having mobility issues and falls like Bambi all the time now. I found a lump near her spine and think that may be part of the problem, as well as aging...she's nearly 14.

My daughter graduated high school and started community college. She's doing great and although introverted, she's making friends and connections with people with similar interests, something that she's always struggled with.

My older sister joined us on a Disney trip and I've now created a Disney addict...she's planning her next trip.

There's always more, but as long as I've got my little group of people in my circle, I'll call it good.
