I'm planning a late October trip for my father and I, it will be his first trip to Disney ever and it is a surprise! We'll be a arriving on Saturday morning and leaving on Wednesday night. I had to rearrange our reservations this weekend because I changed the dates when we were going, but I really lucked out and got even better reservation times than I had gotten originally.

Anyways, here's the plan:

Saturday: Pool Day
Dinner: Kona Cafe, 7:25 PM

Sunday: Magic Kingdom Day
Lunch: Liberty Tree Tavern, 11:50 AM
Dinner: Narcoossee's, 6:10 PM

Monday: Epcot Day
Lunch: Teppan Edo, 12:00 PM
Dinner: Yachtsman Steakhouse, 7:05 PM

Tuesday: Hollywood Studios Day
Lunch: Brown Derby, 11:30 AM
Dinner: California Grill, 7:40 PM

We are most likely staying at All Star Sports and will be on the Deluxe Dining Plan. I don't really eat breakfast and figure we can probably grab a snack and coffee at the resort in the morning. Tell me what you think of my restaurant choices! Thanks!

Sounds amazing! When are you going to reveal your surprise?

A couple of weeks before we go. I told him not to plan anything around his bday, but he has no clue what I'm planning!

The only comment is for lunch at DHS. Would he like the playfulness of Sci-fi or PTC instead of The Brown Derby? :goodvibes

I go back and forth on this as well! I have been to Sci-Fi many times and I love it, but the food is mediocre. I really want to impress my dad with the Disney dining, we love going out to dinner and having a nice meal together, so I want to take him to some nice restaurants. I originally had Prime Time ressies for dinner but when the California Grill opened up at that time I had to jump on it. I will probably be second guessing the lunch ressies until we get there! lol

I was going to say the same thing about the lunch ADR at DHS. My dad got a real kick out of 50's Prime Time - I think he could relate to it all! I'm not a fan of Brown Derby so I guess that's another reason why I say this. BUT brown derby would get you better money's worth on DxDP. The rest look great :thumbsup2

I see you are still short one TS credit even with HBD. Do you have time for breakfast before you leave on Wednesday? Or maybe instead of Kona, you go with either Citricos, Artist Point or Jiko for dinner on your first night.

I also personally would skip TE if you have a hibachi restaurant where you live. We don't really care for the somewhat limited menu and the food and show are better at the places around here. If you don't have a hibachi restaurant closer to home, keep it. If you do, maybe look into either Rose & Crown or Les Chef's for lunch that day.

Also, you will be down for Food & Wine. If that is something you or your father might like exploring you might want to skip the lunch ADR in EPCOT and instead sample different foods for lunch. :thumbsup2

You guys bring up some great points! I feel like the reviews on Teppan Edo are so mixed, some people say it is nothing special and some people say it is a "must do" every trip. Then again, that seems to be how it is with most restaurants around here :rotfl2: But, we live in a big city and have plenty of hibachi restaurants around here, so that is certainly something to consider.

I never thought of how my dad would relate to the 50's theme! I always loved hearing his old stories when I was little.

Thanks for all the feedback so far guys! This is such a great place!
