Rate Discount "assigned" to your name????

Anybody ever gotten a discount for a room or package that was "assigned to their name". I never get an Email code, but I have stayed at Disney every year for the last five years. I did once get a postcard with my MIL's name on it, as she had been one of our guests.

I have heard of people calling to get a quote and asking if there is any kind of code attached. Has anyone ever done this and how did you ask the question?

If there was a magical code, would it only be good for certain dates? The dates that are currently released for codes? Or is it possible to be out until November? We already stayed at Disney this year, so do you think they wouldn't have a code for us until next year? I am obsessing I suppose. Should I just wait until closer to November to call? I can book with AAA or use a AAA rate for a room only now I guess and then cancel should I get a better rate. Kinda frustrating because my friend has DVC points she will rent me and I don't want to hold her up on my decision but only OKW is available when we want to go.

Hi! Any idea how this works?

The DW and I have vacationed at WDW approximately 15 times during the past 14 years and have never had a code attached to our names. Is it because WDW knows they'll get our money anyway, and doesn't feel a need to "entice" us?

When I called this past spring to inquire about fall rates they said a code was attached to our name and it was the general code available to the public at the time - can't remember what it was, but it was whatever the deal was in March.
I have gotten email pins the last 2 falls with kick-butt rates but have not been able to use them. Now that we have actual reservations for this fall I wonder if I'll get one....
