This topic came up in another post. If the first day of your stay is regular season, and the remainder of your stay is value, how do you get the better rate. Can CRO handle it. When I run the price online, the change is around $700.00.

Your rate is based on what season you are in at checkin. This works great if you arrive during value and stay into peak, but not so great in your case if you are checking in during regular.
If you aren't doing a package, there's always the possibilty of booking two different reservations so you get some nights at the value rate. But you may have to move rooms.

That's just it. We are looking at the week following Thanksgiving, arriving on Saturday. Value Season starts Sunday. I was going to book a package so we could get the dining plan. I do not know how checking in, out, and in again would work with a package.

You would book two separate packages - one for one night and one for the rest of your vacation.
Or you would book a room-only reservation for the first night (yes, without the dining plan) and start your package the next day, in value season.

It would be easiest if you made it as two separate reservations, and it would probably be best to do the one night as room only.

However, about three days before arrival call the hotel directly during normal busaines hours and ask for the "rooms assigner". Remind thgis person that you have two linked reservations so they can keep you in the same room. What you would do is first thing on the second morning is check out and immediately check back in. You will receive a different set of room keys.

The only thing of real concern would be your tickets; you must buy at least one day tickets for everyone on the package and you would have to consider how to handle the first day. Of course, you could have it as a non-park day to just get settled in and visit the other resorts.

Get the room only rate for regular season, as others have said - if you have AAA, you may be able to get a small discount.

Then get the package for the rest of the stay. You may need to check in and check out twice at the hotel, but it will save you a lot of money. And while they will never guarantee you the same room, I've never heard of a guest (not my guests, anyway, or anyone else I know who's stayed on property) having rooms switched. Well, unless you book a different view for each.

Hi, We were just there in November. We arrived the Sunday before Thanksgiving .We had room only rate through AAA. We were given the cheaper rate for the entire time we were there. We left the following Monday. I thought that was great!
