Hello
I have found a rare Scrooge McDuck figure in my attic, I have searched the web and only found one webpage with information about this "BigFig"

The have one of the first three BigFigures "Scrooge McDuck"´
I am not alowed to place a picture in this forum so my Avatar is a picture of the figure.

Can any one tell me alittel more about this Figure?
How many were made:
Are they making any more of the same figure?
And what is somthing like this worth?

Any information would be great and helpfull
Thanks

Some of the big figs are worth more than there original price but for the most part they have declined in value. As more and more are made (how many more Mickeys can they make) they are getting harder to collect as they take up a lot of room...

Also having the original box is important for shipping them as they can break very easily.

I do have a friend who is a scrooge collector and I will ask him if he knows more about this for you.

The first "BIG Figs" came to the US in the early 90's. Montgomery Wards imported them from a vendor in the Philippines. However, soon after the figures arrived in stores, MW was advised they were selling unlicensed Disney material and threatened with a law suit (C & D order). The Philippine company was licensed to produce and sell the figures, but not licensed to sell them for distribution in the US. As settlement, MW agreed to sell off inventory at "no profit", and to "cease and desist" selling them. I would offer a guess that MW was the only US retail seller.

Although uncommon in the US, I would have no idea how many were produced for whatever regions the company was licensed. If I remember correctly, MW had them tagged at $259. and closed them out for $125. From what I saw, each store got about three of the figures, but I don't remember how many stores MW operated. Wards never offered them with a box so I assume they arrived in containers, and I saw a significant number of them with damage to the fiberglass, but they were still sold!

The other two original "BIG figs" were Sorcerer Mickey and Donald Duck with a suitcase. eBay of course would be the best current barometer of value, but after searching, I didn't see any offered in the last 30 days.

If I get a chance, I'll put one on eBay and see what happens...

Thank you for the great information, that really helped, As i understand the Fig is rare, and as far as damage this doesnt have a scratch.

Anymore more information would be great.

Thanks again
Sabine

I saw the Donald and Mickey Big Fig's at a BBQ restaurant last night. It was too funny seeing these after the discussion of them here. They were in bad shape though. I guess years of BBQ haven't agreed with them.
