We decided to go again in September, and last time we were there we really got into finding Characters in the parks and getting autographs and pictures. We hit so many that this time we want to find some rare ones if possible. We plan on asking the information desk at the end of Main St. (did that last time to find Pocahontas over in Frontierland), but wondered if anyone has pics or stories of finding some lesser seen characters.

Specifically we are hoping to find:
Mulan (tried Princess Fantasy Faire twice and that's always a long shot, we are going to Goofy's Kitchen which I hear is also a hot spot for her, but wondered if she makes appearances in the park)
Mushu
Gepetto (asked info desk and found out he pops out by Sleeping Beauty Castle walkthrough on occasion, but the time he was there we were at Minnie's Breakfast)
Jiminy Cricket (does he ever appear)?
Blue Fairy?
J Worthington Foulfeather
Toy Story Army Men (seen them running through the park, will they stop and sign an autograph?)
Rabbit and Piglet from Winnie the Pooh
Peter Pan (haven't ever asked for him but see him in Parades)
Wendy (same)
Jane (from Tarzan, since she is on the Fantasmic boat, we wonder if she ever pops out at say Tarzan's Treehouse)
Brer Bear (saw him while riding the DL Train in Critter Country, does he have a regular time)
Brer Rabbit (anyone ever see him)
We saw Brer Fox at Minnie's
Daisy Duck (anyone lucky enough to find her)
Donald Duck (any hints on normal schedule)
The Incredibles kids (notice Mr & Mrs Incredible and Frozone frequent by Tower of Terror, do the kids ever appear, other than Jack Jack in the Pixar Parade?)
Seven Dwarfs (other than Electrical Parade and Christmas Parade do they ever do meet & greet)?
Princes in general (met Prince Charming once and Aladding, but any others?)
Beast
Remy
Emile
Meet the Robinsons cast
Hercules
Esmerelda
Anastasia & Drusilla (seen in Parades and understand villains appear during Halloween, but we're going in September)
Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather
Fairy Godmother (keep passing her at Minnie's does she appear elsewhere?)
etc, etc...

Hope someone has some good tips or sightings to share!

Mulan is also at Ariel's Grotto. The only time I've seen her in the park was during TOT parties at Halloween.

Mushu does not appear with her. He is generally not out in Disneyland from what I was told.

The Toy Story Army Men were out during TOT party too at the Toy Story photo stop, but they didn't sign there either.

We saw Peter Pan and Wendy out during TOT party in October as well, and Peter once solo in Fantasyland during Magic Morning.

Brer Bear was near Splash Mountain Tuesday mornings shortly after the Pooh character meeting opened.

Daisy Duck was in the photo area when we did the Lilo & Stitch breakfast.

The only prince we ever saw was Aladdin, I don't think the others come out much anymore.

Remy and Emilie were out often when the movie came out, but it seems since then the characters were retired.

I think Sherry mentioned seeing the Fairy Godmother at Goofy's Kitchen.

Esmeralda hasn't been in the parks forever, seemed there were similar problems like they were with the Jack Sparrow character.

We saw Geppetto & the Fairy Godmother at Goofy's breakfast once, and Piglet & Wendy at Minnie's breakfast. Brer Bear we saw at Storytellers for breakfast. Daisy at Lilo and Stitch breakfast, and Donald in Toon Town.

Villians we saw at Halloween time... sorry you'll miss that! And we've seen the Incredibles by the entrance to Aladdin before.

Looks like you've got a very big task ahead of you.........have a great time trying to collect all those sigs! :woohoo:

I know that Donald usually comes out on Main Street when Mickey, Goofy and pluto comes out. Brer Fox sometimes comes on the dinner at Goofy's Kitchen. And Peter Pan usually comes out early in the morning in Fantasyland near the Tea Cups/Central Plaza, or you can try to catch him on a sunday together wit Hatter and Alice near the Central Plaza. Good luck with collecting autograph's :wizard:

We saw Mulan at the PFF when we went Sept 2008. Also, Peter Pan has been seen recently at the Drawn to Magic show.

About Jack Sparrow, it is not official but the buzz is that park patrons (female ones) got a little to "up close and personal" with the character. I guess there were similar problems with park patron men and the Esmerelda character.

Jiminy Cricket (does he ever appear)?

My DD is a HUGE Jiminy fan, so we're always on the lookout, and we've only seen him twice:

The first time was at MGM in Florida (it was ages ago... before it became Hollywood Studios) There was a long line, and DD was in a different park with friends, so we didn't even get a picture.
I didn't realize at the time how rare it was for Jiminy to make an appearance.
:confused3

The second time was on a Disney cruise. Jiminy was only out one day, and then only for a very short time. DD did manage to get a picture with him that time though.
:thumbsup2

I know that doesn't really help with Disneyland. Sorry.
Good Luck with your character quest!

Mulan we have seen only at Goofy's Kitchen but have seen her each of the 4 times we've eaten there. (We have only eaten dinner there, so maybe she's more likely to be there at dinner?)

We have not seen the army men at DLR/DCA but at DHS they are usually out right around TSMM, so that's where I would keep an eye out at DCA.

Brer Bear is regularly at Chip & Dale's Breakfast at Storyteller Cafe (GCH). (Or was in 2007 and 2008; we have not yet been in 2009.)

Brer Fox we have seen in the front hub on Main Street.

We met Donald in Toontown.

I have seen almost all of the characters you mentioned at WDW - now that I think about it, they are harder to find at DLR!

Good luck! :)

One more - we saw Prince Phillip at dinner at Goofy's Kitchen!

I've regularly seen Brear Bear & Fox in Critter Country by the entrance to Hungry Bear. They seem to come out more often now.

I also saw Rabbit in Critter Country where you can see Pooh & his other friends. Rabbit had replaced Eeyore when I saw him.

In January we saw the Fairy Godmother at Goofy's Kitchen at supper.

Brer Bear and Brer Fox were in Critter Country in front of the restaurant in the curve there.

We actually were lucky enough to catch the Beast and Belle together at the front entrance to DL around the middle of the day, right in front of the Mickey head. I left my family behind at the entrance booth, I was so excited to see the Beast!! He's been my search for years.

A few years back we saw Mulan at the princess meal at Ariel's Grotto but they have changed it some since then and I don't know if she ever appears there or not.

Good luck!

Thanks for all the replies so far! It gives me some hope that we will be able to find some of these characters. We definitely are going to have to go to WDW sometime in the future as I'm sure with 4 parks there are more opportunities to find them, but Disneyland is where I caught the "Disney fever" and will always be my favorite (not to mention it is over 1500 miles closer).

Would love to see pictures of some of these rarer characters, as I am always curious what they look like (I've never seen a picture of Rabbit or Jiminy Cricket for example, just curious how realistic they appear compared to the films).

Unfortunately I don't have our Jiminy picture on this computer, but I did find one for you:

I don't know how current the site is, but it might help if you ever take that WDW trip. :thumbsup2

We saw the Fairy Godmother in the main hub in front of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

Good luck!

We saw Brer Bear and Brer Fox in Critter Country, perhaps around 11am
Mulan was at PFF. I didn't realise she was hard to find. I mentioned to DD that it was a Bonus that we got to meet her.
Fairy GodMother was outside the castle

The expression on my son's face is surprising. He loves characters but normally doesn't smile (or at least he doesnt' smile normally). I think he was so surprised by how much he liked Rabbit that he got that funny little face to show his happiness.

And we saw Brer Fox that same day, out of a line, near Splash. I saw him, then we got in the FP-holder line for Splash, and suddenly Fox stuck his head through a window opening right in front of me! Yikes!

The Pooh characters are all out in Critter Country near Pooh Corner, we've also seen Brer Fox & Brer Bear there as recently as yesterday. :)

For Mulan, don't count on AG, we've eaten there about 10 times and only seen Mulan once.....Pocahontas was there at the same time, OMG, we were soooooooooo excited.....
