We just got off a 5-night on the Magic...it was our first time on the Magic and my wife is a big Rapunzel fan, and so one of the top priorities was seeing the dinner show at Rapunzel's Royal Table. We wanted to kick our cruise off right, so I requested a dining rotation so that we'd be in Rapunzel's on the first night. When we checked in, we saw that our dining rotation was RLAAR. We had Palo booked for the final night, but we figured that was fine because the dinner show would be on the first night.
We figured wrong! We were concierge for this trip, and when we boarded we went to Rapunzel's for lunch. Our server at lunch asked which MDR we'd be in that night and we said we'd be back in Rapunzel's. He said that the menu for that night was good, but we'd have to wait for the last night for the big show. We asked what he meant, and he said on that sailing that they weren't doing the Rapunzel dinner show on the first night.
So after lunch when we went to the concierge lounge we got our Palo reservation swapped to the third night, and all was well. Seeing the dinner show at Rapunzel's on the last night was fun, but if the server at lunch hadn't mentioned it then we wouldn't have known about the schedule until we showed up for dinner the first night and nothing happened...and by then it may have been too late to change our Palo rezzie!
Anyway, just giving you a heads up if you have your heart set on a particular night at a MDR to double check once you're on board to see when things are going to happen.
