Any Idea when the program is supposed to officially start?
Disney hasn't even said it is happening yet, so no idea.

In your hearing are planning to go live all resorts at same time ? Any chance they will be testing multi resorts in fall and go live totally in January 2014.

All resorts is what I hear. There is no reason I am aware of they would wait beyond the installation of all the machines. I hear Contempo Cafe at CR has theirs now.

The FAQ you offered in the OP said the rollout would be phased in starting with the Allstars in July.
The system was already tested. I'd think any rollout would be over a period of days/weeks not months.

I don't plan to buy these things again, but it's apparently included with my dining plan for my trip in October. We hardly ever make it to the dining halls from our room as a group, although I get up long before my wife and daughter and walk there to sit and read. I think I'll take all three mugs with me every morning and fill them all and sit at a table alone up to my ears in Disney's precious soda.

It is possible they are waiting for all resorts to have their machines and get trained, so they can update the POS system (cash registers) all at once for the change.

They swapped out my old cup for a new one. They did ask when I got my cup but did not ask me to prove it.

Seems it was some sort of problem and they switched it back.
Update: was back on at 3pm no idea if it was intentional, but they sure got a lot less friendly about switching out mugs. They would only offer a paper cup good for 2 hours when we were leaving.
I wonder how many people will bring back old mugs if the deal remains 2 hours of soda in exchange for surrendering an old mug.

Why would Disney want old mugs?
Bill
I assume that will stop about 2 weeks (or less) into the rollout. They have to give access to current guests who are in the middle of their trips and who (hopefully) purchased a mug at the start of their trip.
A paper cup good for 2 hours in exchange for an old mug is more then generous. A paper cup good for 2 hours in exchange for a refillable mug purchased days earlier, in the same resort, during the guests current stay, is not.
Maybe that guest gets the 2 hour cup at the food court and later has to go somewhere else to exchange his mug?
But why only give a 2 hour cup to guests with valid, current mugs? Only makes sense if it's a way to give Disney a chance to do research and determine if the guest is entitled to a replacement mug.
I'm wondering if the 2 hour cup is for goodwill. Sorry you're not allowed to use your old mug. I'll throw it out for you and give your free sods for just this meal.
