<font color=navy>I heard on the radio that today is Random Acts of Kindness Day ...
Well, if the US (and *cough* *cough* Hallmark) is going to have these official days, what better one than to ask everyone to do a random act of kindness.
I was sitting here w/my moderator hat on, reading threads and stuff, and I remembered that we did an RAOK ... it was a small one, but it's the thought... right?
On our way home this evening, we were driving down a busy street, and a rubber ball rolled across the street in front of us ... I glanced quickly and saw about 5 or 6 young kids running to their fence, gazing at that rubber ball going to the other side of this 4-laned boulevard. So, quickly checking that there was no one to crash into, I made a quick u-turn & told my son to grab that ball. The mischievous streak in him made him smile when the kids saw what we were doing and started to shout - THEY'RE TAKING OUR BALL!!!!
I had to wait a little while for traffic to pass (seemed to take forever with these kids glaring at us), but it did, and again, I made a wide U-turn - my son threw the ball out the window and into their fenced-in front yard, and we took off to a chorus of THANK YOUs!!!
Like I said, it was small, but it made me smile - made my kids smile, too.
Happy Random Acts of Kindness Day
