Why are people complaining about VMK releasing stuff? What do they want, the last few weeks to be boring? It just makes no sense why people are complaining

I agree with you 100%

I don't understand people complaining because of vmk making all the credits and new items coming out. Personally I want to enjoy my last weeks of VMK if VMK were to just stop releasing anything and just say you know what the game is closing why bother I wouldn't be happy and probably quit the game.

Although I will say this I wish they would have released some of these awesome new items when the game wasn't about to close.

I also agree 100% I know VMK is closing but I am SO EXCITED about all
the releases today! Another new magic pin, tons new furniture, a new colored
pair of ears, green staff items plus new green items, 3 new quests in just
3 days, it's awesome! I don't want the last days of VMK to be boring either!

I don't know. I guess they're releasing all this stuff, because then it would just go to waste. I think some people, just don't understand that. Me, I don't think im complaining by saying, "I wish they would have thought of this earlier, and released it."

Oh well.

I agree to that too. They should have released it earlier, and I'm sure
they did have plans to release it but now that VMK's closing they are hurrying
to release everything or something.

To resolve these rants I have an idea :goodvibes

Just Don't Close VMK!!

Thank You and have a great day! :rotfl:

I am not complaining but all the wonderful new releases...it just makes me even sadder. :sad1: All these fantastic items and so little time to enjoy them. :(

This is why a number of friends have already signed off of VMK forever. It's too painful.

I can understand both sides of the debate. Since Taz posed the question why, I will put forth the answer I believe.

This is hardly VMK as usual. Isn't that what we were told? The game will go on as usual. Now given that, so many releases, and so many credits are showing the game couldn't possibly survive the way it was, if we were indeed to win the fight.

So I submit to you, VMK is releasing these objects to fight against us. They are destroying any trade value, they are keeping us from writing our letters by giant quests and riding fantasyland rides all day long.

If anyone doesn't think its working, I challenge everyone to observe the amount of players in game for the next couple of days, I think your jaw will drop.

So, playing devils advocate, they are quieting us down... and its working.

I am not happy with the decision by VMK to release all these things when VMK is closing. It is almost like a slap in the face from them and it's basically saying: "Here you go.. have all the things you would have seen in future months or years.. and enjoy them for a little bit when they finally get taken away from you on May 21, 2008."

It's pretty much like giving a child a lollipop- letting them take a lick or two, and then taking it away from them. It doesn't make any sense and is cruel, which makes the matter of VMK closing worse altogether.

Sure, they can release some things over the last month we have, but seriously releasing a bunch of unreleased stuff every few days is not necessary and is obviously not VMKs "normal" routine. VMK closing and changing it's routine like this is actually ruining the fun and excitement that I first felt, and again it's like them saying, "hey.. what the hell.. let's just release everything.." - it ruins the magic.

Also remember that everyone has their right to rant :)

It's pouring salt AND lemon juice in the wound. Yay we can buy it! Booooo, we no time to build and enjoy it.

But as I've seen many people say the game isn't ONLY about trading and buying stuff. :confused3 Just my two cents.

Edit: And think about it from the artist point of view. I'm sure THEY would rather release the items they worked so hard to create, think up and make, rather than throw it away with the close of the game? I feel very bad for them because I'm sure they have so much and such a small window of time to release the items.

I told a friend yesterday, I feel like I am getting the birthday presents I have always dreamed of, with a condition that I must return every one of them and every other gift I have received my entire life in 30 days.

Makes it hurt even more.

So, playing devils advocate, they are quieting us down... and its working.
I agree they are attempting to do this. So my question to every person here is: When did you write or send your most recent letter? Keep up the momentum we had going everyone... unless you want them to see that it was nothing more than an initial reaction.

But, what I think we need to remember is that the VMK Staff did not make the ultimate decision to pull the plug on VMK. I personally do not believe the VMK staff is trying to keep us quiet. To be honest, many of them would probably like VMK to continue as well. I really believe that these designers worked very hard to create so many beautiful items and fully expected them to be released over time or through games and quests. I think they are trying to release these items for all of us to get to enjoy during the time we have left.

I feel sad because this is a sign that VMK will indeed be gone after May 21st. But, I think of it this way. Life is but a vapor, we should be enjoying every minute while we can - on VMK and in our day to day life. Am I heartbroken over this loss - Yes. But, I compare it to someone who finds out they only have a short time left to live. Do they just give up and die the day they receive that diagnosis or do they live life to the fullest during those last days? I am going to quest, build, ride, and visit friends as much as I can in the time we have left.

Hugs Everyone. :grouphug:

Or, from another perspective: Give the child so many lollipops they will stop asking for any more. :sad2:

Sulake staff have no interest in losing the game true, but they dont choose the direction of the game. Direction comes from Disney who indeed has decided to close down the game, and is indeed served well by quieting us down.

Batty's point is well taken, but trading is important to many. They took half of our people power away from the game. Watch the numbers tonight at prime time. Its sad :(

These are my exact thoughts.

I honestly think there's no conspiracy to "quiet us down" thru the releasing of new items. I think it's simply that the designers and staff need to show off what they were working on. Most of them are probably as sick as we are that the place is closing, given the amount of detail and effort that obviously went into some of the items. Maybe it's even an attempt on their part to say "hey, look how great this place is...shame to close it" or something to that effect....trying to send a message to the higher ups about what is possible with the place.
If they really want to make the last month fun, they should cut the price on everything, like by 1/10. If it's trully closing for good, what does it matter if I can now by 10 Captain Nemo chairs for the same price as 1 now?
