Quick rant - just to go get it off my chest.
We finally became a 2 car family at the beginning of the month as DH was fed up with having to walk to my work to colect my car to then collect the kids from school. He bought a little second hand Toyota Yaris which is great.
The car is due to be taxed by 21st August and he doesn't have his documents through yet from DVLA. We know this isn't a problem and we could still get the car taxed, EXCEPT we don't have the insurance documents through yet.
Insurance was taken out on 6th August to start on 10th August, DH chased up the documents on 20th August and they still haven't arrived. He phoned again this morning to be told they've been sent - where are they then???. If he doesn't get them by Tuesday he's going to have to take his car off the road & advise the DVLA. Great. We've only had the car 2 weeks!!
If he doesn't get them tomorrow (apparently they were sent on 21st) he's going to phone them again but it's looking less likely that they'll arrive by Wednesday. He explained today that he needs the certificate to be able to get the car taxed but I don't think the poor girl in Dehli/Calcutta even knew what car tax is

p.s. before anyone starts blaming the postal service, I'll warn you that DD is a postie
