Rank these DVC's in Order of Preference

SInce that is your criteria, I'm going to rate them like this:
AKV- can't beat the animals and embiance!
SSR- upscale furnishings and near DTD
BCV- near Epcot (pool might be closed)
BWV-Not my cup of tea.

My ranking would be:
AKV
OKW
VWL
SSR
BCV
BWV

1. BWV - love the location and the resort
2. AKV - love the resort
3. SSR - reminds me of OKW (my favorite)...but isn't OKW
4. BCV - we just don't care for BCV

That said, you're going to get every possible combination on this question. It really is a personal choice and only you know your tastes and preferences.

Boy, if I start spending more time in this section of the boards I am REALLY gonna get the DVC fever. I have a touch of it already (I did before I ever set foot in my first DVC at VWL last month), but am hoping renting points will fill my needs for the time being.

Thank you all for your input. This is exactly the kind of info I was hoping for. Again when booking at 3 months I realize my options will be limited, however I want to be prepared in case I can get my first choice!

1. BCV - Our home, love the international gateway to Epcot , pool, pool bar (Hurriane Hannah's), ice cream floats at Beaches & Cream and Art the greeter.
2. AKV - Also our home and love the rooms, the savannah, the poolside activities for kids, the pool bar, the concierge level and Jiko!
3.SSR - Was pleasantly surprised. Wonderful CMs, loved AP, great poolside bar, pool (although crowded) and lovely rooms.
4. BWV - stayed here and really didn't feel there was any kind of vibe at all! Kids were afraid of the pool (clown slide).We have no plans to return.

But we just bought at BLT

AKV is my fav next to VWL, which is not on your list. AK Lodge almost kept us from buying into DVC to start with. We just love this property. I was so excited when they made the announcement that it was becoming DVC. If you stay there, go for a Savanna view, it is so worth it. I just read yesterday that a new baby Giraffe has been born.

BCV's is my next in line. This resort just takes you back in time. It's a classic.

BWV's has the view. If you can get Boardwalk View, then this is why I bought there. I too, love the Lobby at Christmas. Even if I am not staying here, we go look at it. I love going to BW Bakery. We always get a Gingerbread House from The Bakery or at Beach Club.

I have never stayed at SSR. I did go look at it. I love the decor. If there was not anywhere else to stay, then I would stay here. This is what makes DVC so great, all the different tastes.

1. BCV - we love it! Our favourite home away from home!

2. AKV - we love the theme and villa rooms, but do not like the location

3. BWV - only reason it is above SSR is for the location, otherwise, we felt the rooms were in need to maintenance

4. SSR - do not like the location

1. BCV/AKV - Can I have two 1's? We own at these and just love them both. The BCV/BW area, plus the proximity to the parks, the pool - hard to beat. But when we want a more "relaxed" visit, or just go on our own - the AKV is superb!
2. BWV - Location!
3. SSR - #3 because of location! To us, it just doesn't have the same feel as the others mentioned.

1. OKW - Huge rooms, great golf course views, and it just means Disney to our family.
1a. HHI would go here if including off-WDW properties
1b. expect Bay Lake to be here
2. WLV - Love the atmosphere.
3. BCV - Location, Location, Location.
4. AKV - Animals.
4. BDV - Too much like a hotel for us.
5. SSR - Sorry, just didn't like it much - small rooms and big property - nice pool but didn't like the common (lobby) areas or the theme (from horse country so don't want horses on vacation) - but when the Treehouses expect SSR will rise a few levels.
unranked - VB - own there, never been there - too far South - our van will not travel South of WDW proper.

Oh I can't make up my mind !! And that is part of why I love DVC...
It depends on park trip/no park trip, adult trip/family trip, just us/friends too...and the list goes on....

If it is Food and Wine BWV is #1 - We have stayed at BCV and don't care for it.
If we travel with friends and their teenagers (as well as ours) SSR is #1, we love the quiet pool, the proximity to DTD and the SPA
Haven't stayed at AKV yet, excited to but since we haven't stayed it doesn't have the 'pull' of home for me.

SO...my order is
BWV or SSR
AKV
BCV

If VWL and Vero were on your list they would take the spots right after BWV/SSR, because we love them as well.

You can see why our family usually always does a split stay, we can't even make up our minds for one vacation.

Of the four you listed it would be:

1. AKV, was our favorite resort before they added villas. There's just something about this place.
2. SSR, our first DVC home, peaceful grounds, elegant furnishings, and great CMs.
3. BCV, proximity to Epcot can't be beat.
4. BWV, something about that clown pool just freaks me out.

Of all the on-property ones it would be:
1. AKV
2. SSR
3. VWL, beautiful and feels like it's away from everything while still being close to MK.
4. BCV
5. BWV
6. OKW, theme just doesn't appeal at all.

BCV- Our home, LOVE it. SAB and jacuzzis, No Way Jose, beautiful location,
bright and airy

AKL- Loved it, want to try concierge next trip.

BWV- Location

SSR- hated it, never going back. Will never "settle" again. Was too far away from main bldg, felt a million miles away from everywhere.

1. AKV, our home resort, fave resort, animals, lobby is gorgeous, most amenities in close proximity.
2. SSR, beautiful grounds, able to park near villa, great waterplay area(s), close proximity to Epcot, MK, & DTD.
3. BCV, proximity to WS, SAB, Beaches~N~Cream!!!!
4. BWV, proxmity to WS & HS.

Adding to (and this is just MO), my complete list of WDW DVC's would be:

1. AKV-see above
2. SSR-see above
3. BCV-see above
4. OKW-large rooms, condo style, community feel
5. BWV-see above
6. VWL-stayed here once, not a match for us
7. BLT (even when it opens!)
