Ranger Stan has passed on

We, too, were so saddened to hear the news of Stan's passing. We've missed him since his well-earned retirement.

What a wonderful ambassador he was for the Walt Disney company and specifically the Lodge. He always made us truly feel like we were coming "home".

Thank you for letting us know.

I'm so afraid that the Disney company is losing sight of the fact that it is their people, like Ranger Stan, who make our stays with them so very special.

To all of you who were Stan's family and close friends, our sincere condolences.

Most sincerely,
Auntie Peep

A few days ago, I was trolling on the theme park forum &some one posted a question asking advice on how to ride TSM 3X's in one day. Op got many replies with different strategies but one line had me sorta shaking my head. The poster wrote her plan of attack and one line said "don't stop to look in the stores and don't stop for the photopass photographers". I remember shaking my head and thinking, "you miss so much of the simple pleasures of a trip to disney".

Ranger Stan was one of those simple pleasures. I know as a dvc'er I am extremely blessed in that I know that there is a pretty good chance I will be back so I can't really criticize any one's touring style but I'm really glad that I took the time to stop and chat with this amazing gentlemen. He epitomizes what makes Disney "different" than many other vacation destinations.

The Ranger Stans and the Art the greeter, over at the BC are what I think of when people say the "magic" of WDW.

Thanks for posting that, I agree completely. I hope Disney appreciates the special CMs as much as we do. They survey so much -- we should make sure we call out these special people by name when we can. They make such a difference. Rest in Peace, Ranger Stan.

Our visits to the Wilderness Lodge were never complete without that special opportunity to chat with Stan about all things Disney. I'm sorry to hear of his passing.

Thanks so much for the link. We've only stayed at Wilderness Lodge once, but Ranger Stan made quite an impression on us. He was a lovely man.

Condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace Ranger Stan.
