I'm trying to calculate points for a cruise. There are point values that I don't understand and hope someone can explain. The first and second person for a Category 11 is 264-272 (which is not that big of a range) but the 3rd and 4th is 200 to 455. I'm assuming, correct me if i'm wrong that the 3rd and 4th depend on the stateroom category but what about the 1st and 2nd person range for the specific category it is listed for? I just need to know how to calculate points to see if it is a possibility for us to go. The low range, we can but the high range we cannot. Any one shed some light on it for me? Do I have to call MS to know exactly how many point it will be :confused3

On the Dream/Fantasy, Cat 11 is actually Cat 11A, 11B & 11C. The DVC point range is the lowest to highest rates of the Cat 11's.
A Standard Inside Stateroom is classified as Categories 11A - 11C located on Decks 2, 5 - 10, as follows:
  • Category 11A: Decks 8, 9, 10
  • Category 11B: Decks 5, 6, 7
  • Category 11C: Deck 2
To get the rate based on the actual category (11A, 11B or 11C), you would need to call MS. You would also need to call to get the exact rate for any additional passengers.

It's best to call MS to see exactly how many points are needed. I've booked six DCL cruises using my points and each itinerary has required a different number of points. If you prefer midship rooms, you will be towards the higher number of points in the range, but they can tell you what your options are. If you decide to book another cruise using points by calling MS within seven days of leaving a cruise, you save about 5-7% of the number of points needed(the info actually says 10%, but in my experience the points don't ever work out to be that--I think the 10% is only if you pay cash and book your next cruise onboard ). Just something to keep in mind.
